How does this rule, which apparently mimics the NHL, allow someone to game the system? I already posted that. A GM can bid on an RFA just to make it so the owning team has to hold him for a year. It will happen, but as you pointed out, the owning team also has the option of taking the compensation. Just my opinion that the savvy manager's will do this on a player that they know the GM will keep anyway. That's all I was pointing out.

Yet Dane and I (the twins), who you said are going to game the system, didn't place a single bid in RFA. Crazy how that works. And believe it or not, there were actually a few RFAs I was interested in who were asking for mid round picks and the team's said no. You didn't see me bid on them just to spite them.

Golf clap, I didn't bid on any RFA's either, as I've said, at least twice, I was just pointing it out, never said either of you would do it, said I knew you were aware of it, isn't that actually a compliment?

Maybe that's why your twin places a bid on Petrovic. I don't know. I really don't care though and won't lose a wink of sleep over it.

The 3M bump hasn't been applied yet. I will do this before round 1 opens. Glenn, are you sure it's not 3mil? This was the only thing I could find, it's on the bottom of page 14 of your recent posts atm and can't find anything say 3.5m.

Do we know how much the NHL cap went up this year? This will allow me to determine if we are 3.5 or 3M above actual cap space.

"16-17 Cap has been raised 1.5M from 74M to 75.5M. Once FA starts this will temporarily bump up by 3.5M to 79M"
... Taken from Glenn's post in 16-17 cap thread

Thanks Scott. The cap is currently 78.5M which is a 3M bump up from everyone's real cap number.
