Cap has been brought back down to actual cap (82M). Get ready to sharpen those pencils boys.
I also pushed out the new lineups as well.
As a fix for the extra goalie in Calgary I will send the last one he signed to one of the quasi vacant teams and return a skater. This will satisfy the minimum player counts for all teams. The extra goalie in the random QV team that I pciik will just have 1 additional goalie. They both need all the help they can get.

Correct. I thought I had mentioned it in this thread but it must have been the other. I will dust-off the code determine contract terms next. That may be done as early as tonight or Wednesday at the latest.

I am working on the contract length page right now. New guys, and even the guys who have been here longer, please review how the page will work. You need to have a firm understanding how bridging works for your guys coming off of their entry level contracts. 4 minute video here:

Contract length determination page is now up. You can get their by clicking on the UFA button.
Red bridge means a player is coming off a bridge deal and can only be signed to 4 year max to complete the 2nd half of the bridge.

What's the contract deadline and what is the 'default' for absentee/non responding teams?

What's the contract deadline and what is the 'default' for absentee/non responding teams? Seeing as the regular season is still 3+ weeks out we have plenty of time. If teams can get these entered by the end of the weekend that would be great. If a GM does nothing then the default is 1 year (2 years if over 6M bid). I have a query that I run that shows me activity so I will know who is working there players and who has yet to start. I will use this as a guide to nudge teams as needed.

Are we going to finalize a solution for UFA resigning before the season starts?

We can certainly do so yes. Once the season starts, it will be too late for next year.

Do contract length selections auto-save, or am I missing a “Save” or “Submit” button?

OK, so it looks like the following teams are not signing any of their players to contracts > 2 years or they haven't completed the task as of yet.
Chicago and Edmonton are no surprise but I am guessing the others still need to do their term work.
Team---Pro Contracts---Over 2 Yr Signings
Alaska---5--- 0 Chicago---2--- 0 Edmonton--- 2--- 0 Halifax 7--- 0--- Johnstown--- 12--- 0

Aside from the escapees, we only have Alaska that needs to reply.
Note, it is quite possible that he may have decided not to sign any of his players more than 2 years out (he only has 5 total). In that case we will be done as I am going to make the command decisions on contract length for Edmonton and Chicago now.
