New England will be waiving: Marc-Andre Bergeron (D) Adjusted Salary: $4,995,000 Years: 5 Unadjusted: $4,995,000 / .9 = 5,550,000 Yearly Savings: 5,550,000 - 4,995,000 = $555,000 555,000 * 5 = One time cap hit of $2,775,000 Poor guy went from 43/39/23 to 24/17/23 You gotta go! I just noticed an error with your calculation. He only has 4 years left on his contract so the cap hit will be 555k * 4 or 2.22M and not 2.775M

Glenn, you may need to double check mine also then. Comrie should be at 1 year left if i'm correct.

The New York Americans are waiving:
Mike Weaver
7.8m/.975 = 8.0m 8 - 7.8 = 200k
1 year left so my cap hit fir next season is 200k
I hope the math is correct on that, it seemed too easy

I think everyone saw that coming...
Say "Hello UFA list", Mr. Weaver.
We are getting a little closer to true bidding, so this doesn't happen again.

sooooo....back to a timeline thing...
After midnight on June 24th - all Waivers must be in.....
THEN
The team with the worst record gets to send correspondence (prolly just post here on the forum) that they are taking a given player ?
IMHO -a decent mechansim would be that each team is given a hour to post their response as to if they are claiming someone (s) or not, and a non posted answer is taken as a no.
Could be handled just like the Entry Draft - "Moncton is on the clock for claiming anyone off waivers from such and such a time unitl such and such a time"
We need to solidiy this process prior to the Entry draft IMO as well....
1. Waiver wire claims
2. Entry Draft
3. Free Agency Orgy

If you plan on waiving a player, post the player here. Also, you can take a stab at the math to determine what the cap hit will be next year.
** ALL WAIVER SELECTIONS NEED TO BE COMPLETED BY 6/24 **
D-Kim Johnsson (Philadelphia) [33k] G-Jonas Gustavsson (Manchester) [720k] G-Dan Ellis (Pittsburgh) [345k] D-Brian Rafalski (Hamilton) [118k] D-Marc-Andre Bergeron (New England) [2.22M] F-Mike Comrie (Toronto) [53k] D-Mike Weaver (New York) [200k]
I have added a section to the draft portion of the website that shows the players that will not have cards this year. As per the rules listed above, you have the ability to waive 1 player from your team with the calculated penalty (again above). You should seriously consider waiving one of these players if you don't have any dead wood you want to jettison. if not, the player's full yearly cap hit will count against your cap next year.

Glenny,
Mr Jay McKee will not have a card next year but is not listed on the Draft page, and he is an RFA. What do I do about his salary cap hit?

I do not see him on the list of players for next year. Since he retired you are on the hook for his salary or you can choose him as the player you wish to waive this year. If his contract has expired, then there are no salary implications to worry about. I will review his status to verify that he is off the books.
