The series just got more interesting. Being down 0-2 isn't an ideal situation, but taking out Jonathan Toews (playoff leader in points and assists; tied for 2nd in goals) is pretty nice for you.
I'll have my updated lines sometime up for you tomorrow so you can get the home team last change.

Ah, I see what you are getting at now. You want to play more hockey and have an exciting series. Well, I apologize and I'm sorry to let you down. There is NO team here in the G that would have beaten you this year. Nobody. And short of winning the 'odd' game against you, I think any series would likely be a blow out also. We will still give it 'the old college try' and not throw in the towel.Everyone can always dream about a 4 game comeback - Flyers and Bruins did it in the NHL, but stats don't lie.

I don't know about that. Detroit was within 123 seconds of taking games 1 and 2 in Steam town and if they would have done that I a guessing the series would have gone at least 7 games. Drastic times call for drastic measures. I think you need to post a picture of your unholy talisman to instill fear in your opponent. The time is late but perhaps not too late...

Detroit..lol
'Woulda, coulda and shoulda' do not play on a line for the Mustangs.
No more necromancy. No faustian bargains (97% of the GHL is now googling 'Faustian). The hockey gods will decide the fate.
No matter the outcome, the Crusader presser will be well written.

He's not that far off. The Barons came back in Game 2 and the Mustangs were 4 seconds away from forcing a Game 7.

what goalies did he face again?
and I was 7 seconds from knocking off Quebec and going to the finals a few years ago, but none of shoulda coulda woulda matters. Nobody remembers the losers.
Come on Brian, you know better than to be third man in (that old rule is maybe before your time).

6/2/19 Steam Sports Arena, Cleveland Ohio:
(Coach Grossman approaches the podium after losing game five)
First of all, I’d like to congratulate the entire Cleveland organization. They have a great squad over there and it should be apparent to everyone after these last two cups how well coached they are. The sportsmanship on and off the ice was much appreciated as well. Now I’ll take a couple of quick questions.
Your club had a meteoric rise this year. How did that feel especially since last year saw the club go the other way?. “Yeah we had a great run this year and took out some good teams. We smacked Philly in their barn in a game six then took out much hated rival Jersey at their arena in a game seven overtime! You talk about coming up big in pressure situations – that’s huge! Then we had to travel to Boston and ended up sticking a dagger in that team in a game seven in their house and it was a shutout. Was it the hardest advance of a team in the G this year? You tell me. We played some excellent hockey and we are all proud of the boys. With that game 6 away and two game 7’s away – one OT, do you feel that may have taken it’s toll on a club that posted it’s first trip to the finals since the league started?
“I dunno about tired but we did have a number of nagging injuries that players dealt with all season and into the playoffs. It’s no secret, if you look at the stats, that Mark Stone was playing hurt. Shaw was also fighting through an upper-body injury that will require surgery, and that’s just naming 2 of our guys. No excuses though, as they had injuries too”.
Five games in the final is indeed a disappointment in any coaches book, what areas do you feel will merit change or improvement with your club for next year?
“Well, first of all, the Steam matched up really well against us. They had production and possession from all four of their lines as well as both their power play and penalty kill. It seemed like we ran into a perfect storm. Even their goalies stood tall, and that was an area where we had particular strength all the way up to the finals. We have most of guys under contract and plan on resigning UFA Jake Voracek to a big multi year. We think Danny Sprong is gonna step up and be a sniper for us kinda like Sonny Mil did this year. One area of big movement is going to be in goal. We have Bobby Lou at the end of a great career with us and we have a major decision to make on Carter. We like our defense coming back but to be honest, we miss those couple years we had Chris Pronger patrolling the paint. We may be on the lookout for that type of player if they do indeed exist.
Your series with Boston shattered a GHL attendance record, can you comment on why so many fans were tuned it? “We had record attendance at our home games as well. I think everyone was excited as we were putting up so many points all year -most ever with 47 wins and 106 points. We are a team that more people like to watch, apparently. We’ll take it. We expect to be back up there next year, of course and we owe it all to our fans. They have been great throughout the years and we look forward to seeing them next season”.
Good night, and good Hockey.
