The program that I run at bid closing handles all of the crunching and random assignment determinations. I will have to review the code to see how that is handled because I am guessing it is using a > sign instead of a >= one when deetermining if FPs have been used. I am guessing it is going to show that the bid was assigned to Philly because of the FP use but I will have to review the code to find out.

The code did see if the next highest bid was greater than the highest bid as opposed to greater than or equal to. I updated the code to the later and adjusted the tables so he can only be signed for 1 year.

For complete fairness, will this affect any other similar signings? The Fast signing in particular, but all should be verified. I mention the Fast signing in particular because even with the FP I used, my final bid and St. Paul's bid are both 3.5m. Would this mean the winner should have been randomly determined? Or was randomly determined?

it only impacted situations where the base bid of the team that also spent FP was the same as the next highest bid. Thats the only case where this type of situation would occur

So you are saying if team A bids with FP that totals 5 million and team B bids 5 million that there is no roll off. The FP automatically wins.

FP usage should be the tie breaker. Seems realistic.

So you are saying if team A bids with FP that totals 5 million and team B bids 5 million that there is no roll off. The FP automatically wins. If team A bids 4M with 1M of FPs (5M total) and team B bids 4M then FPs will give the player to team A (as was the case with Murray). If team A bids 4M with 1M of FPS (5M total) and team B bids 5M then the winner is determined randomly.

If team A bids 4M with 1M of FPS (5M total) and team B bids 5M then the winner is determined randomly. That was my question. The Fast result does not indicate that the winner was determined randomly. I was just trying to verify that this was the case and that I wasn't just awarded the player due to the franchise points.

Just looks a little more legitimate for everyone. The other scenario maybe adding text saying a roll was done.

there's gonna be a LOT of parity this year. The most of any year. Usual mediocre teams are buying in. Almost every team has decent tending. Hershey...Moncton a lot of teams. Very close this year.
