I don't think we have anyone waiting in line at present Mike. Do you have someone who might be interested if/when an opening pops up?

You might be right Phil.
I am looking to get 2 owners who would draft for these teams if the need arises.
Let's also beat the bushes for some new owners just in case they do not reply that they are coming back by 7/8.

The draft page looks a little wonky because of correctly re-ordering picks. The teams that show as need to test draft yet are accurate though. I have sent at least 3 emails to each and they haven't been logged on the forum here for around 2 months. I hope they stick around but we need to have a contingency plan in place in case they aren't.

OK, we have room for 2 more owners and Alaska and Montreal never replied to the numerous emails sent to them.
Filling these teams will not hold up the draft. I will get the draft page reset and light the fuse for the draft either later today or tomorrow.
Joe, I will get Alaska's password set to the same as yours pending identification of a replacement owner.

Glenn.... gave a quick look at team Alaska ..... big $$$$ problems and resigning Chara might not be possible with two 1st rounders and three 2nd rounders to start ....that’s 4.7 mill in cap right there .... resigning a UFA and the 4 top RFA’s On this team I would definitely want your input because this team really is up against the cap with no goaltending

But seriously sign and trade or they can just hit the market. Good news is another 20M coming off the books next year. Alaska’s been a playoff contender the last four years, made a final and kicked out by the winner of the championship 3/4 times. Maybe time for a mini rebuild or a single down year before Alaska can challenge again. Nothing wrong with that.

Jon I went over Alaska’s cap Top 3 RFA’s can be resigned and Chara would be a sign and trade If no draft picks are prospects they would be around 2 mil under the cap

Jon I went over Alaska’s cap Top 3 RFA’s can be resigned and Chara would be a sign and trade If no draft picks are prospects they would be around 2 mil under the cap with 43 players under contract. If one of the drafted guys is a goalie you pull a 100k goalie and a minor league skater (or resign another RFA or two) and there’s your team. Good top 6 with decent forward depth and 7 playable defensemen, before the draft. Sandstroms still in the pipeline somewhere...for now. You’re not gunna find to many UFA goalies and they still could end up a playoff contender with that roster so I’m not really seeing the problem. Maybe a new owner before the G’ starts it’s new year could bring in a trade for a less injured goalie and bam back in contention for a cup. I’m not exactly feeling a ton of sympathy here but maybe I’m missing something. And that’s without any sign and trade, which isn’t a necessity but rather a luxury. The more I look at it the more I’m a bit envious of how that team was managed, it was well taken care of. Hope it goes to someone Just as deserving as it’s previous owner. I’m not entirely being a jerk I promise. Just pointing out I don’t think the team is really in that bad of a state. I think it’s good to get other owners input on open teams to make sure they’re being taken care of as best as possible. So to show I’m willing to not just be the Monday morning quarterback over here if you’re looking for someone to run Montreal until we find an owner I’m willing to help out, unless someone more experienced/more qualified (read:literally anyone) wants to help run that ship for a while. Though it also seems to be in a decent if not similar spot to Alaska sans goalie issues. (May need some D)

Never said team was in bad shape .... but they have no goaltending unless Chara is used in a sign and trade to acquire one Jon ... I’m not being a jerk here I promise .. lol ....

What I read...Jon is now the interim in Montreal.
Jon,
Many of the owners who are longer in the tooth have guided a team as an interim at one point or another, if not multiple times. I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure others would agree, that we are more than appreciative to see an owner like yourself get involved the way you have. I'd be more than happy to see you take Montreal's reigns and more than confident that you'll do a stellar job as the interim. Thank you.
Scott
