Can someone post the chart for the long term signing savings percentages ?

1 year - full contract value
2 years - .975
3 years - .95
4 years - .925
5 years - .9
6 years - .875
7 years - .85
Glenn has not decided if we can go 6 or 7 years yet as far as I know but those will be the values associated if we can. Take your players salary and multiply by these numbers to get adjusted contract value.

Wasn't there also a minimum contract for certain years...For example you can't sign a 500,000 contract to 7 years anymore

yes. don't think there's a decision on a max contract of 6 or 7 years yet though, unless it was figured out at the meeting a couple weeks ago.

Take your players salary and multiply by these numbers to get adjusted contract value. 6 years will be the max signing this year. We may bump this to 7 next but this year it will be 6 years max. Also, the minimum amounts will be bumped up based on the percentage of total call increase. I think I saw that 5.9 M (we will round to 6M) was the NHL increase this year. That being said, and given that the cap last year was 65M=ish, you can roughly calculate the minimums to sign for years by taking last years threshold and multiplying by 1.1. The chart will be updated accordingly. |

$5.5M and over - 6 years maximum
$3.5M - $5.45M - 5 years maximum
$1.5M - $3.45M - 4 years maximum
$800K - $1.495M - 3 years maximum
$500k - $795K - 2 years maximum
under 500k = minor leaguer (unless signed from before this went into effect)

I know this is in the FHL rules document as well that I am still working through. These thresholds will be revisited and re-posted for all to see. |

Pet peeve: can we get rid of the .487501 contracts, I have plugged a 500k 2 year deal into my calculator and it comes up .4875 every time. They used to show as .4875, where the f@#$ did the 01 come from?
