It is not a matter of assuming here, it is a fact that some GM's were circumventing rules. Whether purposely or not. We have rules in place, and yes, some were being discussed as either working or not working. Some need tweaking still. However, we all are subject to the same rules and we all have been trying to stay within the guidelines to make it a fun place for all of us.
Because it is a game, we dont need to cheat ( yes, circumventing is cheating in my book ) to have fun playing in a sim league. Afterall, none of us are getting paid to play in this league...we all do it for the fun of the game and to hopefully create the best product in "our" eyes.
So, Yes, I agree with Phil regarding rules ( Rosters and otherwise )...as I have stated from day one. If there are rules, you follow the rules. If you choose to break rules then you must expect to hear from the others about such.
You dont get to choose which ones you want to abide by. ( and by "You" I am not saying Sal, I am saying "You" meaning anyone ).
I personally feel a few GM's here decided long ago to do whatever they want because there is no defined penalty for going against the rules. There is merely a tap on the back of the hand when being in defiance. In my opinion, those GM(s) are blatantly disregarding everything Glenn has done to make this a better league and are clearly taking advantage of his kindness.
Frankly, I think your second point above is a slap in the face to not only Glenn, but to all of us. I think you have an excellent hockey intelligence and are probably a fine gentleman Sal, Sam or whatever your name really is....But, It seems to me that you are a controlling calculated individual whom has a particular idea of how something should be done, and want it done that way. You stated earlier that you are the President of another league ( or something to that matter ) and it seems like you are trying to make the FHL become exactly how that league operates. Maybe your mastery of that league and of its members has you feeling high and you are trying to replicate those results. I don't know....But, the FHL is the FHL....it's not the league you are in with the others.
You talk about bitching and whining....but since you have joined this league, you have constantly been trying to change nearly every aspect of this league. Granted, you have good ideas and had a very successful campaign with a team that already had a very nice lineup. The only reason Wilmington was a bottom feeder was because the previous GM quit on his team a month into the league. You made a few nice moves ( one huge trade that IMO was ludicrous and should have been rescinded ) and you put your huge inherited Cap to use by signing the best avail goalie. So, yeah, that was nice.....But, anyone one of us could have done the same with 25+ Million in salary cap and a few friends to make donk trades with.
Just saying....I like that your a good hockey guy, and thats what we want here. But, just let the FHL be the FHL and continue its growth. It is still developing. Glenn is definitely the right person to be at the helm and he is guiding the ship in the right direction.
Stay the course and have faith...but ya gotta stop manipulating the shaded areas and try to help make them Black and White....but the touche and snide shout backs are not getting anyone anywhere.
I'm not trying rid you of the league....And I have been quietly stewing all season long reading your thoughts about this and that and how this should be done this way...and yadda yadda yadda( with occaissional outbursts of course )...but enough is enough.....I can easily co-exist you and your strong minded competitiveness as it is a true reflection of myself.
You have to accept the fact that you were in the grey areas a few times this past season. If we all did that, the league would be a farce and would most likely suck. At least it would for me.
