Wow, way to jump right in Steve. All of these guys except Bourque are what we consider minor league players and there will be a period where Glenn will give you the option to either drop them or give them a 150% raise to keep them on your roster. (That is assuming you are referring to Mathieu Roy)
Each team gets one waiver a year and you can use that on Bourque. Maybe someone can help me out with the math on that as even I would have to look it up to see what the waiver fee would be.

I believe you need to know how many years they were signed so you can determine the discount they got for being signed out. So say someone signed a player 5 years at $5 mil. You get a 10% discount for that bringing the contract to $4.5 mil, giving you a savings of $500k. Take that number and multiply by number of years remaining on contract and that's your waiver fee. As for Bourque specifically, I have no idea.

Rene bourque has 2yr left At 5,040,000 Bourque is a 2015 RFA meaning he will be an RFA at this time next year. He only has one season left on his contract. I am assuming he was signed to a 5 year contract originally. That means his contract savings was 10% (there is a chart showing the discounts in the league rules and processes thread). So to find his yearly savings we take $5,040,000/.9=$5,600,000 Then take this number minus his current contract to get yearly savings: $5,600,000-$5,040,000=$560,000 He was one year left on his contract so your one time waiver fee would be $560,000 ($560,000 * 1 year remaining)

I'm going to guess that his original signing price was 5.6 mil. If that's the case than the savings from his contract is at 560k so with two years left it would cost you a one time cap hit of 1.12 million to waive him.

Yes, what Ian said. Sorry I was going off the two years left as stated but Ian is right on. 560k.

Steve, as a side note, keep in mind that you need to be at a minimum of 45 players when the season starts (max 50) to include 5 goaltenders
