Not trying to argue or be an asshole Chris, I'm fine with guys talking a little time if needed here, my point was that if it had been New Jersey, there would still be no pick at 86 until tomorrow and I think everyone would agree that that would be a little excessive

To clear up my view, I like the early draft window. It gives you time to make a realistic pick and also negotiate moving up/down. Like Brian said we don't have one day with all GMs in a room where we have phones and can make a deal happen in a matter of minutes. I also like the draft moving along but it's also a week ahead of schedule so I'd like to make my own picks rather than continuously give a list with potential sleepers while it's unnecessary to do so. There is really no incentive to give a list to someone else rather than to avoid being labeled an asshole or whatever because you're holding up the draft. I think the process is fine as is but maybe something that will help in one way or another is to either create a penalty for an excessively long wait or a reward for a quick pick. I'm generally in agreement with this. I don't think it's necessary to impose a penalty, as I feel like it defeats the purpose of the early window. I do think it would be good for owners who are going to be slow in picking to be more transparent in the event that work/some other obligation is what is keeping them from making a pick as timely as others wish it. We've already seen some of that this year and perhaps that will become more widespread in the future. I think a lot of the aggravation comes from waiting and waiting and not knowing when the pick might get made. I think knowing it's going to be a while alleviates a lot of that anxiety.

The best part about the belly aching is that one of the GMs belly aching about it taking too long got pissy about something and sat on his pick a few years ago. IMO the early draft window is a convenience and it shouldn't be tinkered with. If someone takes an entire day, oh well, life happens. Hopefully they plan ahead and utilize a buddy or message a mod/Glenn with a list.

I don't know if this is too much or if it's a good idea so I'll just throw it out there: Guys have a pretty good idea of when they'll be unavailable. I'm a stay at home dad so my schedule is pretty flexible. Others can pick at work while some are dead to the outside world. Plus this is a busy time with vacations and everything. What if we had a chart where guys can post when they'll be unavailable? It could also list who is making picks for teams that are unavailable. I made a few picks for Boston when he was away and I didn't get any messages saying he was up. This could solve that problem as well as provide a quick reference for league run teams. I don't have a problem with the early draft or the length of time between picks. I just think it could be more efficient. If I'm on deck I'd like to have an idea of whether I'll be up in 10 minutes or 10 hours.

Protesting a Glennsa ruling is not the same as lagging on a pick.

In the event of someone holding up the draft out of vindictiveness, (even the early open window mind you) I reserve the right to open the window for the subsequent teams after fair warning has been given. This has in the past, and I assume will continue in future to spurn owners to action. Again, to be crystal clear, this will not done in cases where a user is tied up for work or some other personal issue.
