I just sat down to look over my roster and make some evaluations on my own players as talks have seemed to ramp up a little the past couple of days and I'm left with a couple of questions as I work the phones, etc.
1) Glenn, can you PLEASE get rid of the 001's. We've talked about this in the past. I will gladly pay an extra $5 or whatever on my 2020-21 league fees to no longer have to look at these contracts!
2) When will the trade freeze officially be lifted?

I do believe I fixed these in the past but any new contracts are still being rounded I suppose. I will fix the current ones and also look to round the forumla in the contract assignment logic to prevent these moving forward.
In regards to the trade freeze, I believe we are officially open for business again.

If the core numbers are pretty close, look at the stamina.

Cap has been increased. The increase to 86M includes the 2M increase from last year as well as an additional 2M bump (which will go away at the end of the off season).
I will be getting the FPs allocated as well and am considering doling all of them out as opposed to 1/2 of them because of the new UFA 1 player extension rule.

Quick question - Stephen Johns has no card this year (was injured all of last year), will he only count as $100k against my cap once everything is complete? Just trying to figure out where I stand, it looks like his full cap hit is counting right now.

I got the RFA bidding page up and running. I need to check a few things before we turn this on for some test bidding.

I will get the RFA bidding completely dusted off and testing up during the weekend. Look for RFA phase to start in about 1 week.

RFA Page is now up and open for testing. Minimum test bids are currently set at 1M so you see how the bidding works for varying amounts. RFA test bids will be deleted and RFA will go live with the 8M round on afternoon of Friday 8/9. This round will close on Saturday at 8:00 PM EST at which point the owners of any players bid on will have until 8:00 PM on Sunday to decide to retain or let go for compensation. By default, if an owner does not select what he wants to do, the player will be retained. Even though this is the case, please take the initiative and chose. This means even if you don't plan to be active in the RFA phase you still need to be engaged as other owners may bid on your players.I have created a new thread that shows all of the rounds opening and closing dates as well as to report bids and decisions. You can find that here: gtgfhl.proboards.com/thread/5435/19-20-rfa-schedule-resultsI highly encourage all GMs to make a test bid and this especially goes for newer of first time GMs. From the rulebook below: On the appointed start day for RFA I will turn on the process and you will have an opportunity to bid on Restricted Free Agents (RFA) with minimum bids required for the first round of 8M per year. This first phase will complete on the following night at 8:00 PM EST at which point in time bidding will be disabled and bids, if any, will be reviewed to determine high bidders and this information will be posted. Teams who have had players bid on will then have 24 hours to decide if they will keep the player. The match will be based on the RFA type. RFA I players (drafted) coming off their entry level contract can be matched by offering 75% of the highest bid or 75% of the players asking price, whichever is higher. Bridged RFA I players or any RFA II or RFA III can be matched by offering 90% of the highest bid or 90% of the players asking price, whichever is higher. This review for teams will need to be completed by 8:00 PM EST on the second day after the round opened at which point the next phase of RFA will continue with minimum bids of 6M with a closing of the bidding portion 24 hours later and then another 24 hours for owners to decide what to do with players that have been bid upon. These 2 day phases will continue for each of the 7 salary groupings as listed here:
$8M $6M $4.5M $3M $1.5M $1M $600k
Some notes to remember regarding RFA:
1) The bid you make for a player in this phase will be exactly what you need to pay the player. If you make a bid for 10M and someone decides not to match, you are on the hook for 10M (contingent to some minor savings for signing the player for a longer term contract).
2) You do not want to bid on your own players. This could only be driving up the cost on a player who you will have a chance to match anyways.
3) Your bid needs to be at minimum, the player’s asking price.
4) You must have your own draft picks in order to make a selection that will require forfeiting those draft picks if you win. Therefore, you need to review the picks you will need to give up in case you win a bid for a player and the current owner decides not to match. This also means that you might only be able to bid on one player especially during these higher rounds.
5) If you bid on a player or multiple players in a round and your bid(s) would involve compensation that you either do not have, or would not have if you won all the players you bid on, then your bids, no matter what they are, will not be considered in determining what happens to the player. It is important for each owner to understand the compensation chart below and not double dip during any round.
6) Any player that is brought into play by being bid on by at least one player in a round will be off of the table for later rounds after the players current owner decides to match or take the compensation. This means that if Quick is bid upon by a few GMs in the first round of RFA, once the highest bidder is determined and Quick's owner decides what to do with him, his fate is sealed. He will not be available to bid on in round 2 and later.
7) GMs cannot exceed their salary cap to match a RFA.
8) Players that are retained must not be traded or cut for at least 1 year.Read more: gtgfhl.proboards.com/thread/3370/rule-book#ixzz5ve07Sewz

RFA TEST BIDS potential issue:
I just made a test bid for an RFA for 6.75M which required "1 First Round Pick and a 3rd"...both of which, I possess. However, an error message appeared stating "Picks Not Available" and no RFA bid appeared in the bid on player section.
Question 1: Are the 2020 Picks loaded into our tables to allow us to make these test bids, and consequently, make our live bids next week?
I did make a test bid on a 1M player, Zach Fucale and it worked.
Question 2: When we go "RFA live" on Friday, will the RFA bid price be below 1M? There are RFA I's that have an asking price less than the 1M minimum. For Ex: Zach Fucale asking 900K and requiring No Compensation. On the contrary, a 1M bid requires a GM to forfeit a 3rd Rd Pk.

If you consult the charts on the RFAS page, you will see that bids over 6M for a RFA I or II requires 1st, 2nd and 3rd not just a 1st and 3rd. As you no longer have your 2nd, that is why you were unable to make the bid. On Friday minimum bids will be 8M and step down as per the schedule posted on the results thread.
