Chicago waives Trevor Daley with penalty. Thanks Jed I can’t make sense of the waiver penalty. Glenn can you please advise? It reads like 1.26 / 5.93/ 7.65 or some such thing. Thanks Owen if u cut him those are the 3 years of the money that u will lose or pay however u want to refer to it off your total cap … so instead of one season of a big cap hit its spread out over 3

$4.93/$3.29/$1.64 - This means that the cost to waive him this offseason is 4.93 million (technically 4,931,250, which is the amount of savings per season you currently receive based on the length of Seguin's contract multiplied by the number of years left on it). The other amounts are how much you'd pay if you waited to waive him in the offseasons coming up (3.29 being 2 times the savings, and 1.64 being 1 times the savings).
4.93 isn't a small chunk, but you'd still be freeing up $6,575,000 with the waive, and you'd be able to do it before UFA , and the rest would come off the cap next year, if I have it correct.
Because this contract was done in 2018 it's still being handled the old way compared to the newer, more costlier waiver rules seen with more recent signings (take a look at the difference between Seguin's card and either Subban's or Johnson's on your team for a comparison).

So, will the first round be delayed due to waivers not being processed yet?

Have to give them the chance. It is Tyler Seguim after all.

Chicago waives Trevor Daley with penalty. I know this one isn't pressing to the UFA process as it is a player with no card but just bumping a it was missed
