I thought based on performance you might be.

No...Not yet. Does it look it? I see the trade block... big mistake. Bad luck shouldn't lend to knee-jerk reactions. NY was undefeated through the first 5 games. Trust me when I tell you that I had no illusions of grandeur, nor was I even close to picking up the phone.

LOL! Knee jerk reactions? Scott-Alaska and I have both been GM of teams that were locks for GHL Finals and probably Favorites to win. Does that mean we win, or that we should win? NO!
But, don't lecture me on knee-jerk trade blocks or some other BS...this is a friggin simulation. Maybe, I'm adjusting a plan for the future of this franchise...Maybe, I'm realistic about my teams expectations and moving good asset(s) in anticipation of another disappointing season...
I have built great teams with Bad Goalies, and Won. I have built decent teams with a Great Goalie (determined by player Card) and Lost. WOW! Just like the NHL...weird.
I built a Cornwall-esque team this year. Actually, a bit better in the Top 6, but got out-bid throughout UFA on third line guys by GM's giving 1st line salaries to 3rd line guys, IMO. So it goes...This is what I'm left to play. But, by all accounts and historical GHL data....my 72-72 goalie should win me the GHL Cup! The team behind the goalie doesn't mean anything here.
Last year I had a pretty damn good team with a decent goalie tandem...I lost to an Lesser team with a better goalie card. So, this year, I have a better goalie card (5th Best in TECH and 6th Best ATH in the GHL). But, for some reason, just can't win a game, especially, at home...0-4.
Knee jerk reaction after 7 games? Well, that's your opinion...you're welcome to it.

So you believe that a 72-72 goalie should win you a cup? I'll have to believe that's sarcasm, or at least hope it is. I'm not sure why you thought I was lecturing, but that was not my intention, nor my place. Just my opinion. I personally don't care how any other manager builds their team, but what I do know is that there is no guaranteed winning formula. Defense first teams have won... and lost. The same can be said for offense first teams. I will admit, trading away your starting goalie who has all but lost his net in the NHL might not be a terrible mistake but it also wouldn't surprise me if he returns to beast mode over the course of the season since it's very early. Again, all opinion, maybe better kept to myself, but that just wouldn't be me.

Goalies might be the most overrated position in terms of importance in GHL.
Not saying they aren't important but after last year with Andersons 79-76 posting a (.914/3.02) split I decided to focus on D and see if that effects goalie stats more than card.
Too early to tell but Anderson putting up better numbers with a 66-59 card than he did last year.
Your team is good and I'd be willing to bet a fuck ton you make the playoffs as at least a top 6 seeded team.

It is extremely likely that Suffolk finishes 1st in the conference if he doesn't blow it up. Oops, there's my opinion again

I appreciate your support Scott.
Funny thing, I notice a scenario in this league sim, whereas, a good team (for ex Suffolk last year) would play against a bad team (less than 90 OFF, less than 80 DEF, and a goalie in the 40's) would beat that good team fairly often.
So I'm experimenting that phenomenon. I have exactly that type of bad team, but my goalie is much better than those bad teams. I have backups that are 40's....But, I still haven't won against the weaker goalies, going back to last season and now. YOU may have a different experience. That's my experience. I always lose to the inferior teams, and my home record is usually around .500 pct, give or take. No Home ice advantage, No Toughness Advantage, No Skill Advantage, No Defensive Advantage, No Goalie Advantage.
Why exactly are we having Ratings for players if they matter not?
Yes, I know and understand, thats why we (THEY) play the game. But in professional sports, the teams are really that close in competition. Here in the GHL there is not the same disparity but the results of games indicate that the same disparity exists...It does not. THIS season however, there is very good disparity and most of the teams are closer in competition. It hasn't been like this for many seasons in the GHL.
Do player Attributes contribute to the sim? Do they not? I'm sick of seeing the teams being run by the sim and not a GM. I'm sick of seeing other GM's not contribute, participate. Why bother being a member?
Maybe this should be a paid league, and have cash payouts. I don't know the correct answer to get better commitments. The whole Cincinnati thing is bothersome to me. It's a joke! It shows us that we don't need to be here at all!!!

LOL! Two teams with 40-40 goalies collide...of course the away team with fewer shots and lesser Offense and Defense Wins.
Or, you could say, two teams with 40-40 goalies collide, the Home team with more shots on goal, better and Offense and Defense Loses!
Either way, it's a Win Win for Suffolk. I'm trying not to lose, but every loss gives me a better shot at that #1 Draft Pick...Too funny.

You take away each team's 4th line (since they barely played) and I'd have a very hard time saying your team has the higher defense, and probably equal or slight advantage on offense to Montreal with their offensive defense as well. But don't worry about facts and keep spinning your narrative.

But don't worry about facts and keep spinning your narrative. I owe you an apology. You have however opened my eyes...believe it or not (I'm sure you believe it), I never total up my offense and defense scores, I usually just eyeball them. So I thank you for that. I did do the math comparing Mtl Vs Suffolk. Not to be a dick, just to see if what you were saying was accurate. It made me think. The end comparison: Suffolk had a 74 Point Offense Advantage, while Montreal had a 27 Point Defensive Advantage. Honestly, it could go in either direction in gameplay situation. I'm upgrading you from Junior to Senior! I hope that you accept the upgrade and accept my apologies.
