As we head into the Christmas break, the Norris Division is the tightest division in the FHL from top to bottom, with just 8 points separating the 1st place team from the last place team. In the games leading into the break, Hershey took over top spot in the division with 34 points, but the comfort level of that spot has haunted the Amerks as they have held it by mere points for the past couple of weeks. New York currently finds themselves sitting in third in the division with 33 points, which is only good for 9th in the conference due to the low point totals of Norris division teams. All five teams in the Norris have records under the .500 mark. Philadelphia currently holds 2nd in the division also with 33 points, but Philly has a game in hand on both NY and Hershey. Sitting 4th, only 2 points back from NY with 2 games in hand is Baltimore and rounding out the division is Wilmington, who are only 5 points back and have 3 games in hand on the division leaders. Although proving to be a weaker division point wise, the Norris race should prove to be very exciting in the second half of the season as it could prove that you may have to win this division to make the playoffs.

Good writeup Scott.
You can liken the Norris this year to the NFL NFC West last year. At the current rate, the winner of the division could well have a sub .500 record and still earn themselves a top 3 seed in the conference.
Philly had hoped that the signing of Bryzgalov was going to be the tonic needed to shake the mantle of complacency off but that has not yet happened. That being said, there are some deals in the works to shore up the defensive side which might spark a winning tear.
