If these were based on last season's rosters then the results aren't at all consistent with the real life results from last season. There are plenty of examples, but the ones that stand out is Detroit having the fourth worst record and Colorado having the best record.

There are plenty of examples, but the ones that stand out is Detroit having the fourth worst record and Colorado having the best record. It is a simulation based upon their stats from last year. There will be variance due to bounces of the puck, injuries, etc. You cannot look at one statistical sample and state that it is either dead on or no where near accurate. There will always be variance. I would think that Detroit would usually be higher but Colorado had a very good year last year as well. I will run another cycle and post later for review/comparison.

Are injuries a big variable?

Are injuries a big variable? That depends on the player going down. They can be if one or two of your stars go down for an extended period of time.
