Nikolay Zherdev is showing up on my team with a cap hit of $8,463,750.00. I don't think that this is correct.

The overall cap hit is as Scott mentioned during the life of his contract. I put that on there to assist GMs in determining which guy they want to waiver (if any). Did Zherdev play in Europe last year? If so, you can retain him for 100k or drop him for free.

Ok so right now Koskinen is counting towards $585,000 of my cap, I take it that means when I retain/drop him that will change?

That is how I interpret this as well. It looks to me like you should gain 550k for the minor leaguers you are losing plus Koskinen's salary once you act on him. Is this correct Glenn?

Pros with no cards will have their savings realized (if any) once they are waived, retained for 100k or cut free of charge (dependent upon their disposition).
I will have to check minor league players to see if they are still hitting the books or not. Because they can depart freely, the departing minor leaguers should not be hitting you cap.

It is my understanding that teams have no option on the minor leaguers, minor leaguers with no card cannot he retained, was wondering whether they were still hitting the cap, thanks.
