If it were a situation where Suffolk wasn't dominating teams on a consistent basis, or if I had won one or more of the games I was dominating, then I would keep my peace. However, if you want to contend that BECAUSE a team simply has 3 knuckle dragging ankle benders in their lineup, they should have a competitive advantage...you have to be fooling yourselves.
If you want to have skill sets that ACTUALLY mean something, then the skill sets that actual hockey players bring to a game, should severely outweigh the minimum advantage in the toolbox that those "tough guys" bring!!! Just saying.
Am I a fan of gritty guys, hell yeah.
If your saying Getzlaf is intimidated because a team has Tim Jackman on the Bench. Or Corey Perry is intimidated, Backes or Ward are intimidated, Garbutt, Bouma, Giroux, Kunitz, or 6'5 Bjugstad is intimidated...I fail to see it.
If nothing has changed, so be it....BUT we have Never, I say NEVVVVVVVVV-er had Forwards with defensive scores like we have today in the GHL....on top of that, Toughness has never had the impact that it does now.
If you believe that a 45+ Offense, 45+ Defense, 45+ Skill, 38-39 Goalie with 3 Big Save # should be losing---not only losing but being shut out by teams with 35 Offense, 40 Defense, 35 Skill and a similar goalie.....Sure, once in a while, BUT NOT EVERY TIME.
It's a joke, just like the toughness stat. Look around the NHL boys....Suffolk is setting the trend. I started it last season. No tough guys in the lineup. Konopka on the bench. The need for them, is no more fella's!!! 6'4 Power forwards with skill, aren't intimidated by 6'2 Fighters!!!!!! Just doesn't happen anymore. Look at teams around the league....Where's Barch, Orr, Parros??? When you locate them, tell me more about the toughness stat.

Toughness and Intimidation are intangibles in the game. They have MINOR impact in today's NHL!
Skating, Passing, Shooting, Hitting, Stickhandling, Blocking Shots, Goaltending are Attributes that actually have MAJOR impacts in hockey games.
Lets wake up guys.
If there's an Intimidation Attribute, why cant there be an attribute for Goading one of those knuckleheads into a penalty? Or, for not being intimidated? The Toughness thing, is an Assumption. Your saying an entire team is intimidated by one or two players. That is hysterical!
I've never noticed Patrick Kane to be intimidated, St Louis, Datsyuk, Toews, nope...none of them.

Toughness has never had the impact that it does now. For the love of God, how many times can it be stated that there have been no changes to toughness or intimidation for the past 3 seasons.

Chris, what you said is exactly why I said I felt we were off topic. I refuse to believe that your little slump has anything to do with toughness or intimidation. These stats play a minimal role in the NHL and I find it hard to believe that they amount to much of anything here. Zac Rinaldo = useless card. Dan Carcillo = useless card.

Seriously , there MUST be a reason for Suffolk to lose like they are. As much as I make fun of Chris, i agree here. His team should be winning more of those games.

No doubt in my mind, Phil. But it's not because his team isn't tough enough, that I'm sure of.
