Another awesome playoff game...a thrilling 1-0 OT game!!! Baltimore gets past Suffolk in Game 4. I have a question though Mr Glenn...Why did Corey Perry only play 11 TOI Even Cory Conacher, on my 4th line ( which usually only gets 3:45 TOI ) for an entire game, doubled up his TOI ). Niether played on SH units, but Perry played on PP1 and 1st line regular shifts. He isn't listed as injured in the game either. Something is not adding up for me in this one. Please explain.

Weber - Match Penalty knocked Perry out of the game.

If you look, the same thing happened to Toews in my last game. Giroux knocked him out in the 2nd period.

Out of curiosity...doesnt each Goaltender get awarded a Shut-Out when a game ends in regulation at Zero?

On the main page it looks like there is a lot of short handed goals this playoffs. I just noticed that. I got nothin else. I think that is because that is one of the easiset records to tie. If you get one in a game, you tie a FHL record. Now when someone sets the bar with 2....

Decided to run the numbers on this, ran into an issue, but still found good data.
Sifting through the individual team pages I accounted for 145 total SHG in the regular season, but counting them stats page, I counted 147. I recounted but came up with the same numbers, so I'll be going with what I found on the team pages since I'm relying on team specific numbers. If anyone wants to find those 2 goals, be my guest but those two goals don't impact the results much.
First, lets look at the ratio of games per SHG in the regular season and post season:
Regular Season: 145 SHG, 2460 games 2460/147 = 16.9 games per SHG
Playoffs: 7 SHG, 71 games 71/7 = 10.14 games per SHG
Now lets look at what teams scored those 145 regular season SHG, separated into playoff an non-playoff teams:
Non-Playoff: Toronto: 9 Rochester: 8 Hamilton: 7 Syracuse: 7 Philadelphia: 5 Seattle: 5 Adirondack: 4 Detroit: 4 Ottawa: 4 Hartford: 3 Hershey: 3 Moncton: 3 Montreal: 3 St. Louis: 3
68 regular season SHG, non playoff teams.
Playoff: Suffolk: 11 Baltimore: 9 Halifax: 9 Boston: 6 Colorado: 6 Cornwall: 6 Cleveland: 5 Milwaukee: 5 Thunder Bay: 5 Cincinnati: 4 New York: 4 Chicago: 2 Johnstown: 2 Quebec: 2 New Jersey: 1 St. Paul: 0
77 regular season SHG, playoff teams.
Several of the non playoff teams that scored more SHG barely missed the cut like Rochester, Syracuse, and Philadelphia.
Torontos high SHG total may be attributed to teams resting starters against the Toros. It might not, but either way, it's odd.
Looking at the numbers, in general, better teams tend to score more short handed goals. Despite there being two more playoff teams, if you average the total playoff team SHG, you get 4.8, you can then remove 10 goals from the playoff team total to even the teams then the distribution is pretty even.
The numbers don't really give any irrefutable answers, but when I look at this, I see that 6 of the 8 teams in the second round of the playoffs scored 5+ SHG in the regular season. I'm thinking that when you remove the teams that don't score many SHG and are left with playoff teams that tend to score more SHG, the ratio of games per SHG will increase.
