Hi Glenn,
I was looking at the newly drafted additions this morning (thanks for getting them up so fast) and I realized I had no idea how the contract values were determined. I have guys on $800K, $500K, $650K / year deals and can't seem to find a post the details how these numbers are crunched.
Thanks!

Thanks Ian.
We had discussed lowering these and I aim that we lower some of the later rounds for sure for next year. I think the starta should be something like this:
Overall Pick 1-10 11-20 21-30 31-50 51-90 90+

I've always thought something simple like the following...
1st round-900k 2nd-800k 3rd-700k 4th-600k 5th-500k
If that's not low enough, maybe something like Glenn's example with these contract values. The typical NHL entry level deal is 900k.

I like it.
Is there any way to take a players career stats and factor that into contract price? So a #12 OA that lit it up in junior might make slightly more than a #8 OA that had an average career stat wise. Maybe that's getting too complicated...
