Just taking a look at why my first line of powerhouse forwards are not leading the league in goals like they used to a year or two ago...
My team has taken 948 shots on goal and produced an anemic 64 goals.oh no no no!
Goalies this year are boasting astronomical save percentages.
We could use some more metrics like team shots on goal ect ect in order for all us to properly evaluate things and move forward.
I'd love to see other teams shots on goal / goals score ratios.

Might be something to look at, especially shutout numbers. NHL leaders Have 6, 5 and 3 respectively In GHL there are 16 goalies with 4 shutouts or more and 30 with 3 shutouts

What were the stats last season in the NHL compared to this season in the GHL? We can't compare the current seasons side by side and get an accurate picture, we really can't compare the NHL to this league at all seeing as how the players are all spread out among the different teams but at least looking back to last season in the NHL would be a little closer resemblance to this season for us.

Either goalies are too powerful or shooters are not powerful enough.
Start with the goalies....way too high save percentage. WAY too many shutouts.

The most important barometer IMHO is comparing goals per game in the NHL last year with the GHL year to date.
I think the reason there might be more shutouts in the GHL is that our league (for better or for worse) does not have the parity that the NHL has. Our struggling teams are not near as good (roster talent wise) as the struggling teams in the NHL.

I dunno 'bout that. Look at a game between two powerhouses like Chi and Halifax and you will often see really high save percentages for both teams.

Team goals for, goals agayinst list
Team hits
Team shots
Team faceoffs
Team shot blocks
These analytics are needed - more so than call-up / transaction tracker.

Cool. Old age sucks, then. I missed the Hammond nerf decision and several other things I guess. Have to get Glenn's recommendation on a good place for brain testing...

We're thinking along the lines that Corsi stats could be useful here so I am in the process of pulling those and comparing them by year to some of the player cards to see what, if any, affect they will have.
