Great movie. Hashtag Driveby... We had some good discussion on how to add the Corsi stats into the mix and we think it really helps some guys who are decent or better defensively but don't get and SH time. The new alogithm has been added into the mix. No official release of any cards yet but attendees (Scott-NY and Scott-NJ) did get some sneak previews. 2 questions. Will the new algorithm just add it as a supplemental thing (what's the weight)/can we see the algorithm Why Corsi? would Fenwick (basically Corsi at even strength) be more helpful. wouldn't give guys who get tons of shots on PP a boost to D.

Perhaps my terminology is off. We are using the shots attempted for own versus other team while playing 5 on 5. Maybe this is actually Fenwick as opposed to Corsi.
The alogorithm that we are operating right now is pretty simple and when both Scotts and myself were reviewing yesterday we thought it was definitely improving the results. The forumala is taking the SAT% subtracting 50 and adding that to the previously generated defcomp (no changes from last year). So a guy who was a 53.3% would have a defcomp of his normally calculcated defcomp + 3 (53-50).

Poor Jarett Stoll getting a neg 13 haha.

It does decrease if the player is below 50%. So a 46% guy would have his def comp lowered by 4 (46-50=-4).
That being said, I only use this modification if the player has played 41 or more games in the NHL. Otherwise you get some guys who only played 1 or 2 games and have crazy 70% stats. Sample size of 41 required otherwise it just uses the default defcomp score (with no adjustment).

I think we should include the playoffs in card computations for the players who make the NHL playoffs, just saying... Phil 'the thrill' Kessel ;D

Phil 'the thrill' Kessel ;D At first I was on board because I have Logan Couture, but then I remembered I have 1/3 of the Flyers forwards (Giroux, Simmonds, Couturier, Vandevelde). So no, I think this is a terrible idea!

I've always liked the idea of using playoff stats as well as regular season but it would push the card process back using the playoff stats into mid June at the earliest and therefore the draft date and all other off season processes would just get pushed back as well

Playoff hockey is played against better competition. You really can't just add the stats together.

I added some player detail information to the series stats page. This is for all years going back to the beginning of time.

1/2 of teams new 15-16 franchise points have been loaded. Also, the existing tally of points for each team has been moved to a FP bank for use at a later time. FP bank robbery.

well if the truth be told, Scotty forfeited all of his points a few years back. I think this was done to make a point but I am not entirely sure...

I recall that, but I do not recall receiving any 'banked' fp back. Must've been taxation without representation.
