Nothing has changed. The one thing that was added (I think Chris pushed hard for this) was shots on goal. Even though they don't show on the player 3 star line, they can be seen in the super stats section.

that's because tonight's story belongs to the Blazers. All Blazers. Kadri, Brodziak, and Nemestikov.

Thanks Chris. I was out and about last night. After the games are run there is a process that aggregates stats and standings, handles goalie stamina and the last step is determining the 3 stars. Periodically a timeout error occurs in this block. I will run when i get home.

Question re: 3 Stars
How are the 3 Stars determined?
I think there might be something wrong...Suffolk Vs Chicago 2/12/17
Suffolk wins 2-1, Kane scores league leading 39th goal while taking "11 Shots" gets snubbed to Hartnell who also scored a goal on "2 shots, a block and 3 hits. 11 SHOTS fella? Who does that? Oh yeah, League Leader in Goals and he's only made the 3 stars 1 or twice for the league. What gives?

Confused Hartnell isn't a star tonight, if comparing to another night maybe less games and weaker competition

Kane had 10 shots that didn't lead to points, so do they matter? Hartnell made the same impact scoring wise and actually played hockey, hitting and blocking things. I believe hits and defensive stats like shot blocking are worth more to the three star engine than shots, and it definitely doesn't factor in if the guy is a leading scorer or not.

Who's to say Hartnell's 3 hits actually led to anything Matthew? I like hitting, but I believe scoring really does have a bigger impact in games...just a thought. But, I do enjoy the banter. Especially since tonight's games were low scoring affairs, for the most part...and all were pretty close games.

You're most definitely right on that! Who wants to see the leading scorer teeing off shot after shot, dangling in and out, braking ankles and dropping jocks...yeah, we'd rather see someone block a shot and plaster one or two guys during the 60 minute affair. There's my star of the game.

I know own I added shots to the algorithm at Chris's insistence shortly after the 3 stars were rolled out. The formula also weighs game tying and game winning goals more than others.
