Is there any way that we could track and show who was on the ice at the time a goal happened?

Is there any way that we could track and show who was on the ice at the time a goal happened? At the micro level no. Not without watching the game of course (online or in the GHL DVR viewer). At the macro level you can use the players plus minus stat of course to see how they did during the game

Plus Minus does not always tell the story and help you see who was on the ice. It does not help with PP or PK units. If a line is in a middle of a change or.if there is a line that is on the ice for goals against and for.

That was apparently what happens when the tap and talk app opens in your pants pocket.

That was apparently what happens when the tap and talk app opens in your pants pocket. I'm not sure if this makes it any better.

At the macro level you can use the players plus minus stat of course to see how they did during the game Watching the game online does not let you see who was on the ice at any given time... the GHL DVR viewer is not up and running for all league games yet as far as I know, but when it is, will there be a pause feature to collect this information? From what I remember, this feature moves far too quickly to be able to see who is on the ice when a goal is scored.

The program will allow for a sliding playback speed based on a particular users taste. The current online version for the playoffs last year was set at one speed (which was pretty damned fast).
My thought is to make a slimmed down version which would allow a viewer to only see the highlights. Big hits, great saves, goals, etc....

Just like anything else in the IT world there is a way to do anything. The question isn't can something like this be done, it is how much effort would it take to build (I would scope that out) and what would the degree of benefit be of using it once it was built (you guys can comment on this part).
