Best to just never listen to Phil, Chris.
I would love to see a waiver system, to go along with agreed based free agency. I have offered to track waivers. I'm not sure how difficult the coding would be as far as splitting players salaries if we followed the NHL rules. This pretty much solves the other issues listed and I believe we could go back to 6 goalie with the NHL expansion. I believe the reason we went to 5 was because their wasn't enough at one time to have 6 on each team.
With that said, the old timers stuff is cool, but no reason we can't do both. Old timers is temporary, once we catch up to the contemporary league, it's history. Which was the whole point of starting it, to build a league history.

Might be my only chance to get cups, and I could write some solid historical pressers.

You can tell..or at least I can tell because I know him so well after all these years. He wants to 'do' all this old timer stuff. He doesn't want to do the minor league team. He doesn't care about solutions. Best to just drop it and move on young Chris. I can tell you for sure that Phil is way off base with his assertion that I don't want to do minor league. I will tell you that for free by golly. I believe if we forensically check the forum you will find many posts regarding what is, I believe,my initial floating of the idea and a thread on what the teams locations and names would be. What gives me great pause is the fact that the additional work to code and facilitate the old timers league is X and the same work for the minor league additions is at least 10*X if not 20*X. That in conjunction with the personal preference and perceived benefit from the old timers versus minors leaves this is it's current state. I like the ideas that are floated but what needs to still be taken into account is how all of these solutions would need to be implemented. They all require code and logic (both engine and website) to facilitate. On the surface you may not see all of the impacts but being the person who put this together I can tell you that the list is long and distinguished ("and so is my Johnson" - [TOP GUN REFERENCE]). It would be a waste of my time, and the readers as well if the truth be told, to further denote the hurdles. Bottom line is I would like to do this in the future but the supporting structure is not in place right now.

We shall see if we have a minor league in 2019, 2020 or 2022...
Until then, regular Psychology or 'reverse' Psychology will continue to be employed.
Your mind is my puppet!

Wondering if we'll see some ill-fated expansion placement in these historical seasons that get rectified further down the road, a la Oakland Seals or KC Scouts. It would only seem right to place a team in Atlanta for a little while only to have them become one of today's Canadian clubs.

I’m interested in where your team will be if you enter the old timers league. Colorado’s origins are the New England Whalers, so unless having two teams with similar logos drove us out of town I’m eager to see where you start your franchise!

Good point...and to the guys currently in the old timers league have a say in their uniforms over time? It would be interesting to have a past elsewhere with the potential for different past color schemes and such, not to mention figuring out a location.
