RFA's:
8) Starting with the 2016 RFA phase, players that are retained must not be traded or cut for at least 1 year.
UFA's:
Let's see if I have this right. Any signing of UFA's over 6 million must result in a TWO year contract.
Now the sticky part. And for THAT rule to have any meaningful effect, that player cannot be waived for those two years. If we allow 'easy waivers' on this issue then we are back to square one with teams spending 15 million on someone and just jettisoning them after one season.
Thoughts? Clarifications?

Is the two year thing in the rule book?

I think it is, but the rule book is fairly disorganized.

an lo' in the beginning, Glennsa (mensa) made the hockey world and everyone skated, scored goals and all was good as it should be.
Then suddenly there were those teams who really didn't care for winning or team-building. They only sought to trade. Trade after trade, sometimes trading the recently acquired players within weeks or days, was the new normal for these few teams and the Hockey world was a little less bright and small children playing shinny were seen with tears at times.
Then G in a mighty effort to correct such an abhorrent and unnatural practice developed the powerful points-of-F. Franchise points. Mother f'in points. And this curtailed a lot of the silly trading and brought realism back to the world and all was good. Children enjoyed hot soup and seemed bright and cheery.
Then somehow G opened up the floodgates and F points seemingly doubled overnight, and the trading began again in earnest - also a lot of genuine 'proper' teams as well took advantage and things were once again out of whack. The children cried...ah F it. Enough with the children.
and I have WAY too much time on my hands. Holy F.......

I wasn't really sure where to post this question, so I figured this seemed like a good place...
Is this section from The Rulebook accurate regarding UFA contract discounts based on years signed?
Having never really been concerned about UFA, I'd like to make sure I understand the system as I try to plug a couple (of the many) holes in my line-up.

I believe that is correct, there are also Min/Max contract times based on $/year. I'll see if I can find it and repost it here as well.

This is the case for all contracts whether they relate to a UFA or RFA.
