Suffolk NY - Suffolk Stampeder
The Suffolk Stampede 6-4-1 record, is no indication of the teams true prowess, or lack thereof. Off to a furious start, the Stampede have been bit by the injury bug. After returning two players from the infirmary, they added three more. A lineup already thin cannot afford the loss of bodies and sustain in this division. New Jersey continues to roll through the GHL and Philadelphia has been playing leap frog with Suffolk.
"We've known since training camp that a few of the boys had some lingering and nagging injuries come into this years campaign. We have a had a few other surprising injuries, and that means that we need other guys to pull stronger. Everyone knows, this ain't solitaire, this here's a team sport and everyone needs to contribute. We'd love to have all our guys healthy and strong all season long, but we know that's not reality." GM Frey had that to say after this evenings tough loss at home to Milwaukee. What will the hard luck Stampede do from here? Will it be a sell off, or will the ever busy GM stand pat and wait for a regroup. Only time can tell for sure. Insiders believe the GM has had discussions with several other teams. Not sure if they're sellers or buyers from this reporters perspective.
Stay tuned!
