You defined rookie in your post above not me And you want to use semantics as the basis for your argument? Georgie has solid numbers in 51 Liga games. Koskinnen has twice as many Liga games and three times as many KHL games as Georgie has ever played. In summary, your argument re: backups and rookies holds little water. Kosk is a tenured veteran goalie who has capitalized on his opportunity at the age of 30 due to Talbot's troubles. None of this supports any argument for a raw rookie with ten games being able to platoon with a veteran #1 goalie who you have signed for 7.8 m for 6 years. It may be something we can twist certain stats to support, but we both know this is sort of ridiculous.

From Cam Talbot....LOL. Not exactly stolen! Talbot has become an expensive shit sandwich. I am praying he gets traded out of EDM so he can try again elsewhere.

Matt Murray was a raw rookie with 10ish games who went on to win the cup for the Pens taking the job from a well paid Fleury

Dane, you've effectively identified the exception to the rule. Well done. Since 1976, only 6 rookie goalies have played (EDIT: started) in a cup final.

Nah Dane, he played 13 games his first season, then went on to 50 games thenext year. Pitt never had much confidence in Fleury. Frankly, their defense was always skiddish too, until the 1st cup run. Which, is the year Fleury was hurt and they completely abandoned him. Fleury got the raw end of that stick yet remained a PRO-gentleman on his way out the door.
Also a coaching change with a more defensive mindset.

I am going to break my own rule here and use this because there is a lot of other anecdotal evidence on this thread as well. | Imagine if you will, a gangly rookie goaltender call-up posting a 0.56 GAA and .977 Save Percentage in 5 games for the Arizona Coyotes after posting 3.22 GAA and a .871 Save percentage in 6 GP in the minors prior to his call-up... |

OK, lemme try. In the words of that Scottish woman made famous by social media, "Trump is a cunt". Therefore: 1. All American presidents were cunts 2. All Scottish females hate Trump 3. Scots hate all Americans
Am I doing this right?

Scots hate all Americans Am I doing this right? Actually that is a different logical argument called an inductive argument. My professor didn't have such a colorful analogy. His/the books was: Gentelmen prefer blondes Cary Grant is a gentleman Therefore, Cary Grant prefers blondes But, as a proud American let me offer this retort. 1) Justin Trudeau enjoys penis 2) Justin Trudeau is a liberal beta male cuck 3) Therefore Liberal beta male cucks enjoy penis. * Peoplekind? Really? The one I made, and the ones made multiple others here is defined as anecdotal evidence and according to professor Carrick at least, the weakest form of argument. When you think about it, it has to be pretty weak if the ones used above is above it.

Not so different at all. You extract one finite example to make a point that is supposed to carry weight across a broader spectrum of logical reasoning. I just took your ball and ran with it.
1. Trudeau's wife is pretty fucking hot. 2. He isn't gay. And if he was, who fucking cares? 3. He didnt fuck a porn star after Sophie gave birth 4. He can form an actual sentence 5. I win.
EDIT: to be considered "A proud American", one must have great affection for Donald Trump. Because, satirical references to the pussy-grabber-in-chief used to illuminate a point of reasoning clearly stir the ire of true patriots...

Sadly, 'little brother Justin' is infinitely more intelligent and respected around the world. True story, bruh. And more to the point, the U.S. will always be "Little Brother" when it comes to hockey. Winkey face emoji implied.

For as much as an embarassment as Trump is, I am no US fan boy and can certainly see it. I would take him over world respected (*snicker) Justin and 24 hours a day 7 days a week. In regards to hockey, recent WJ performance, and the upward trend percentage wise of US in the NHL seems to paint a different story. We let you guys have the hockey mantle for more than 100 years. It is time it comes to its final resting place where it belongs. Chin up. There is no shame in being second best. *Plus, you will always have curling.

Wish in one hand, Covfefe in the other Glenn. Statistically speaking, 7 of the last 10 first overall draft picks came from...wait for it... not the U.S. Since the 2010 draft, the US has had 12 picks in the top 10. Canada has had 43. 374 of the players currently in the NHL are Canadian. The US is a distant second with 223. But you're used to being a distant second when it comes to the best sport on Earth.
