Wish in one hand, Covfefe in the other Glenn. Statistically speaking, 7 of the last 10 first overall draft picks came from...wait for it... not the U.S. Since the 2010 draft, the US has had 12 picks in the top 10. Canada has had 43. 374 of the players currently in the NHL are Canadian. The US is a distant second with 223. But you're used to being a distant second when it comes to the best sport on Earth. Now if you were to not cherry pick stats and look at the trend as I have suggested you might just pea your pants. I would start with NHL makeup of Canadian versus US players in 1970 and every 10 years up to and including 2018. Also if you take a look at the WJ championships won in this decade, US has 3 to date and Canada 2. Not even going to mention the dominance of the US U18 teams... As mentioned you will always have curling.

Can I just say this...
Some AHL goalies can come up to the BIGS and play, or shall we say, LOOK stellar and post up good numbers for a "short sample size" BUT ( remember this but point ) their AHL stats were less than stellar.
Here's the point...
The "but" point is, you are giving the "Rookie" an unfair advantage over established Pro goalies. How so you ask! Glad you asked...Because, that AHL rookie with fair to average stats in the AHL, got the call up to an above average NHL team, and now his stats have ballooned to a "make believe" NHL stud.
Conversely, you have the AHL goalie who had stellar AHL stats called up to the big club, but the big club sucks, and his stats take a dump yielding an unusable GHL card.
Think of Georgiev in Hartford, then appearing in 10 NHL games with last years Rangers. Think of Copley playing in Hershey, then playing for the Caps. Or of Sateri playing in Springfield and then called up to Panthers of last season.
In other words, IT isn't just that rookie goalie's stats that you are accounting for. You are NOT taking into account his Junior/Minor league teams awareness as compared to just an NHL teams stats. We all know how goalies play, Rookie or established Pro 's, how are we giving goalies BETTER than REAL LIFE cards? I watch every damn NY Ranger game, and because of this league, I watch A lot more hockey than I would. Georgiev is a nice prospect....BUT he AIN'T no starter for the NHL!!!! Not yet!!! How in the world do we allow our goalies year after year to be something that they are not? Mind boggling!!!
I understand we all like playing fantasy hockey....but this is some sick "fantasy" to see some of these cards. We have guys with "Above 100" offense and defense, goalies who can't save a beach ball looking like all stars. ( slight exaggeration )...you know what I mean. Let's take a deep breath and float back down to earth.
