OK, I will need to check the Edmonton - Detroit to see who has the home ice advantage. If the 3rd tie breaker is goal differential then it would be Detroit. If there is ahead to head breakdown in there, which I am guessing there is, then it could very well be Edmonton.

Yes, 3rd tiebreaker is head to head and Edmonton owns that tiebreak, I checked before I posted but the league can and should verify my info

A very, very, very quick look at the playoffs. I'll start with the CAMPBELL CONFERENCE today. I'll try to find time to do the other conference before the dance begins.
SMYTHE DIVISION
Halifax (1) v. Montreal (WC2)
Hot Take: Montreal can score goals, but they don’t have the capacity to hold Halifax over a series. Dell will steal a game for the Maroons.
Prediction: Halifax in five.
Boston (2) v. Quebec (3)
Hot Take: Boston matches Quebec goal-for-goal throughout the series, and Antti Raanta stands on his head. Boston wins the series on the strength of their special teams play.
Prediction: Boston in six.
NORRIS DIVISION
New Jersey (1) v. Adirondack (WC1)
Hot Take: New Jersey wins the division and gets rewarded with Adirondack, who have been defensively sound all season. Curtis McElhinney will be the difference in this series, but look for Filip Forsberg to snap out of a slump and be the team’s leading scorer after this series.
Prediction: Adirondack in six.
Cornwall (2) v. Philadelphia (3)
Hot Take: An incredibly tight match-up, with both teams matching up evenly up and down the lineup. The only considerable difference is between the pipes, where Cornwall sports a superior goaltending duo in Hutton and Luongo.
Prediction: Cornwall in seven.

I had a moment to look at the PRINCE OF WALES CONFERENCE, so here are my incredibly lackluster predictions.
PATRICK DIVISION
Seattle (1) v. Pittsburgh (WC1)
Hot Take: Pittsburgh had average team defense along with a hodge-podge of goaltenders, but Fleury could make a difference in the series. That assumes that the Hornets can score -- they are the second-lowest scoring team in the playoffs. Seattle’s depth is too much to overcome, but Fleury wins two games on his own.
Prediction: Seattle in six.
Detroit (2) v. Edmonton (3)
Hot Take: Detroit couldn’t buy a goal during the regular season, but it didn’t matter. With Pekka Rinne in net, the Mustangs should be able to limit the Beavers’ high-flying trio of Brett Connolly, Mika Zibanejad, and Cory Conacher.
Prediction: Detroit in five.
ADAMS DIVISION
Cleveland (1) v. Colorado (WC2)
Hot Take: The Barons look ready to repeat. Eric Staal’s sixty goals look to start on the third line, which is really all that needs to be said about this matchup.
Prediction: Cleveland in four.
Alaska (2) v. Hamilton (3)
Hot Take: This is my favorite series. Hamilton gets the slight nod with forward depth, but Alaska punches back on the blueline. The goaltending tilts toward Alaska, too. Unlike most other series where I favor the stronger goaltending, my gut tells me that the Tigers pull the upset here.
Prediction: Hamilton in seven.

That assumes that the Hornets can score -- they are the second-lowest scoring team in the playoffs. Seattle’s depth is too much to overcome, but Fleury wins two games on his own. Prediction: Seattle in six. Well, Fleury won’t be winning any more games in this series after suffering a 17-day injury in Game One. Game over, Hornets.

Congratulations to Cleveland for completing the sweep! This round was never in doubt but the games were closer than I expected. Good luck the rest of the way, Barons!

Congratulations to Cleveland for completing the sweep! This round was never in doubt but the games were closer than I expected. Good luck the rest of the way, Barons! Congrats to you too. It might have ended in 4, but minus the empty net goal the last 3 were 1 goal games. Your team definitely threw mine around and I'm lucky that none of the 5 players you injured will be out long term. I'm also just happy I didn't pull a Tampa!

Congrats to Halifax on a great season and dominant playoff series! See you gents in 19-20! Hey thanks man. That series was a lot closer than it looks, I think 3 of 4 games were 1 goal until I got an EN. See you next season.

This is hard as Hell to believe but this is only Halifax's 2nd series win, the first one coming in the 1st round of the inaugural season 9 years ago.
For all of the great teams he has had he has had shit playoff luck. Now that the monkey is off his back, this very well may be Ian's year.

Halifax is the San Jose Sharks of the GHL. Has for some reason been snake bitten in the postseason

A couple of really good series going on in the Campbell conference with 4 very closely matched teams. A real barn burner last night in the NaCl series and an exciting game 5 for Boston and Halifax tonight as well. I will work on dusting off the game viewer this weekend for use starting with the conference finals, or perhaps any needed game 7s in the conference semi finals as well
