The Crusaders arrive in Boston to take on the Bears at the den and staff columnist Cindy Crystalby was able to catch Coach Grossman for a few quick comments
Coach Grossman, you are deep into the Conference finals with a veteran Bears team than has obviously been here and done that before. What are your feelings going into a barn that is obviously going to be rockin tonight?
'Well Cindy we had a game 7 conference final in Quebec a few years ago and came within 7 seconds of forcing overtime. We have different boys now but young Jason Demers was in that game and remembers. He was +2 and played a great game. We will be ready and playing the same tough gritty game we have all year that got us here. Solid defense and scoring from all 4 lines. We have had great production from our 3rd and 4th lines as well as all defensive pairings and feel our depth has been key. No reason to change or think otherwise just because it's the money-ist game other than the big show, now'.
We see Boston practicing with some different line combinations - JVR dropping down and Rookie young Mathew Barzal moving up.
'I think they are worried and need more production. We have played a close series so far, but it doesn't surprise me that they are concerned about needing some more scoring'.
Statistics say this is the most watched series in the G...ever. Why do you think more people are tuning in?
'Simple Cindy - it's just a great, tight series with old time hockey. Great give and go with some OT, everyone is on the edge of their seat. We have a lot of the GM's in the boxes and other more jealous types skulking around glued to the action all the same. I think the fans don't really want to see another 'Holland Tunnel' game and are anxious to see if we can knock off the Steam. I believe we can. Either way, no matter what the score tonight, our boys are playing some great hockey and we are just happy to be balls deep in the big show. Can I say that - Balls deep?'
Not really...
'Anyhoo, as always, the pleasure has been all yours and Good Hockey'
