In light of recent outburst on a trade thread (don’t have an opinion personally) I thought I’d share a way another league I’m in handles these and see if helps us going forward.
Any team can message the commissioner to object to the trade, once there are 3 owners that object it goes to a trade committee of 5 senior owners (I believe we already have one). From there the 3 owner who objected are posted on the forum for transparency and the trade committee must vote and give their reasons yay or nay on the forum. Once 3 yes or no from the committee happen trade is finished.
Just a suggestion I don’t think ours is that bad I just don’t know how trades are approved or denied.

We have the INNER CIRCLE but it still comes down to the all mighty rule of one....

Dane,
Good point and I this is the way things are/should be handled.
I think it was posted prior and perhaps I should add it to the rulebook that if you think I trade is lopsided or has a smell to it you can send me a PM for review. Contrary to what the Saltiest man on the earth says, I do reach out to the inner circle to get their thoughts on a trade that is brought to my attention by another owner. This is what happened with the latest trade.

I DON'T have a problem with any sort of Trade Committee. I DO have a problem with the thought of 3 GM's having a problem with a trade process that Dane submitted. I may be misunderstanding his other league's process. In Dane's explanation, 3 GM's do not like a trade between 2 other parties, the trade committee then speak among themselves and decides what two other people want to do?
Just like BIG Gov't getting involved in peoples affairs and rights.
Questions:
1- Does the Trade Committee contact the two ( or three ) parties involved in the trade for their perspectives on the trade?
2- Does the trade committee just decide upon themselves that a trade is unfair or lopsided without any consideration from the parties involved?
3- There is a huge Philly contingent in this league. IMO, someone is butt hurt that a Philly prospect is involved in the the latest trade and had submitted a complaint because that GM feels that any Philly prospect is worth more than any other prospect on the planet. What makes the trade committee qualified to determine that another GM's thought process is wrong or right?
I've been taking a lot of shit for trades, and frankly, I'm a bit sick of it. I've also taken on the responsibility of drafting for a 2nd team and taken shit for that. Meanwhile, in all of the cases ( ie: trading Chara to Pitt in 2016 ) ( Drafting for Rochester...moving the 3rd overall pk ( Brendan Gallagher ) for Jeff Skinner, Tyler Johnson and Brian Dumoulin )...Chara, at 42, still continues to have a Top 5 Defensive card in the GHL. Skinner, Johnson and Dumoulin would still be a great haul for one Gallagher. BUT, ONE GM made a huge stink and made the old Pitt ( Rochester ) manager bail on the players and dismantle his team.
Now, a GM who has no clue as to what two other parties are deciding upon for their own franchise, thinks he is the one who should decide what is best for them, specifically because that GM dislikes one of the others. Specifically, that GM is the one who stirs up all the shit in this league, Fake News, as always.
So, yeah, I have a problem with a Trade Committee in this league. Too many Philly lovers. Isaac Ratcliffe, according to Hockey Pundit Professionals and Beat Writers, has him listed as the 7th Best Left Wing prospect in Philly!!! 7th Best!!! Not the next in line, not the 2nd, not the 3rd, not the 4th...He could be 3-4 years away from 3rd line duties!!! He could be one month away!
Keep your opinions to yourself, unless someone asks for it!!! Trying to make a GM seem like a crook for no reason other than to be a dick, is/should be against the GM Code of Conduct!!! Trying to start shit repeatedly should be punishable!!!
Gardiner is a 2nd pairing Defender on a Playoff Bound Carolina team. Hintz is a 3rd line C/W playing on a 2nd line playoff bound team in Dallas. Suffolk wants Fwd's, Chicago wants D. Good contracts with similar value.
Brouwer has a playable card, equal to Hintz's card, for the remainder of this season. No loss to Chi lineup. Ratcliffe is a prospect years away from playing in GHL/NHL. Value for Value...Now for Future.
NYA 4th Rd Pk- a 4th or 5th was offered before trade was finalized but Chi declined additional compensation because he felt it was a FAIR trade for both parties. And, yes, I told Bob about the contracts, the UFA status of Brouwer and his being out of NHL. Transparency was thorough.
Gardiner has a 4 yr very affordable 2M deal in GHL, and 4 yrs with Carolina. Hintz has 1 more yr before he is an RFA in GHL. He scored 4 goals early in NHL season, I doubt he will continue to keep that Hall of Fame pace...but, the trade was proposed BEFORE the season even began!!!!

I feel like I wanna type about 14 paragraphs refuting Suffolks points listed above.
I would do so without calling Chris names ect, even though it's fun sometimes.
I have what I feel are all major counterpoints to his, as well as Danes and Glenn's points.
Will it be a waste of time? I tend to think so.

Typical Douche-baggery from Phil-Cornwall. No worries by me...keep showing the rest of the league what you really are. Nothing but a shit stirring fool.
What the hell do you even know about prospects? You don't have a single one on your entire roster!!! Draft much?
Sprong you claimed was to be a 2nd line regular with Anaheim....hmmm
JFK you claimed is the next Patrice Bergeron....LOL
32 of the 48 Players on my Roster were Drafted by Suffolk. 19 of the 47 Players on your Roster were Drafted by You. Interesting, you drafted less than 50% of your roster. Seems like Cornwall is acquiring other peoples players at a higher pace.
