As the Big G says: "Integrity, boys"..."Integrity".
And on that note, as I prepare my squad to take on PITT and keep the heater we're on alive, I notice that two very talented assets are in the coaches' doghouse. Pierre Luc Dubois and Cam Fowler don't appear to be dressed. Fowler hasnt seen any ice time at all it seems, for quite some time. Just 25 games this year. I dont recall any injury reports. He's also better than anyone above him on the team's depth chart, but that doesnt seem to compel the owner in question to dress him.
PLD is out of the lineup, but I imagine the game will insert him in the top line where there's a glaring hole. I'll bet Blandisi and his 73 OFF might be useful on a third line with nobody above a 69. He's played just 14 games this year. Was he hurt???
While I'll gladly take the two points, it sorta sucks that PITT doesn't care to be competitive this year. They have cap to burn, they have skilled talent eating hot dogs in the press box and a lottery pick headin' their way come off season. Pretty sure this is called tanking, but that's for someone else to adjudicate upon.
I would like to suggest that any non-injured player who is healthy and an obvious asset, who is intentionally left off the active roster for more than a couple consecutive games should be subject to a waiver claim by any team with cap space, starting with the worst-performing clubs having first crack, and the offending manager should pay a penalty in the form of draft pick position, ie disqualification from top 5 draft eligibility.
I dont wanna sound like a dick, but this is supposed to be fun, and we win or lose based on our abilities to play within the rules. We've gone down this road recently with other managers, and we need to be consistent with how we are accountable.
My .o2.
Thanks.
