I believe last year was a bit of a different situation. We had to do the UFA extensions before the expansion draft. In normal years I believe we had until the beginning of free agency to make that decision.
This year will probably be more like:
Entry Draft
Players with No Cards
Minor League Decisions
UFA Extensions (75FP)
RFA
RFAs with no bids (sign or release)
UFA
Contract Lengths

I believe this is the standard timeline of events.
Draft Testing
Draft
Drafted players assigned (most as [prospects)
Lineups updated
RFA Phase
UFA 1 per year extensions made
Minor League Decisions (keep/release)
End of Buyouts (Need to complete prior to UFA starting)
UFA Phase
Contract Determinations
Puck drop

I think the only thing that needs to be added is that buyouts need to occur before the UFA phase.

Are we increasing the cap for the 22/23 year? NHL raised the cap by $1,000,000 after keeping it the same for the prior 3 years.

Yes, we will follow suit. I will raise the cap by 1M and then add the 3M cushion that can be used during the off season.
Cap raised from 84M to 85M and bumped temporarily by 3M.

Is there a reason why we can't do all of the items between RFA and UFA at once in 2ish week period? Meaning buyouts, unbid RFA decisions, UFA extensions, and minor leaguers decisions can all be done concurrently. I think this would help with the owners who don't come onto the forums much and allow us to have a better, more structured, schedule in the offseason.

Yes, there are a couple of reasons for this with the primary one being the same page is used for all of these functions (minor league decisions/contract length assignments/etc) one at a time. |

I'm just talking about the items between RFA and UFA. The only item that uses the website between RFA and UFA is the minor leaguer decisions. Unbid RFA decisions, buyouts, and UFA extensions are just posted to the forum unless I'm mistaken, and contract length determination for all parts of free agency has been done after the UFA phase.

In order to give owners as much time as possible to make a decision on the UFA extensions we will kick off UFA at the close of that phase this Friday.
