How the fuck does a player with a 7 fort get hurt for 100 days ? I can understand a 5 or less fort getting hurt this long but this seems excessive ,especially that no player on the other team got a suspension for the injury my player received and speaking of suspensions when is this so called reduction taking place ?

Freak injuries and huge injury times have happened since way way back - guys with 8-9 Fort out for months. It happens.
That's the luck or unluck of the dice and the randomness that we kinda need - so far it's been very rare this year (long term / high Fort)
NOW suspensions? We Certainly can fix that, and right quick, for realism.

I have had any best forward with 9 fort out for a month and a half. I’ve been playing with 4 defenders out on injury. Three of which have 8+ fort. Shit happens.

Now that I look at my guys...
Nosek - 9 Fort = out 2 months

For the counter please see if you have any guys with 4 or 5 forts that have escaped the injury bug to date as well. This knife cuts both ways.

Guys I understand all that , just odd especially this season with suspensions that a player is out that long without a penalty or suspension happening ….but I have a player out suspended for a borderline hit and out over 20 games on a player he hurt bordline mind u with a 5 fort , I’m sorry you have a 5 or lower fort u should be happy that player gets 45 games played in , they aren’t meant to last the entire season hence the low fort

Suspensions and injuries are handled by separate routines.
In the past guys have asked what the chances were of a guy getting injured for a lengthy time. There already are some metrics that are written to the debug file(similar to the ones I just added for suspensions) so I have already made a copy of last nights to review this 100 days.

I have had any best forward with 9 fort out for a month and a half. I’ve been playing with 4 defenders out on injury. Three of which have 8+ fort. Shit happens. Matthews had a 9 Fortitude last season. He missed 28 Days with an injury. Still he had 63 goals...One behind the league leader for the season. He had 104 Pts, missing 28 games...I say this not to brag or boast of him...but to point out that he was overlooked as MVP and was amongst the lead before he was injured. Remained 1 goal behind O'Reilly to end the season. Unrecognized by the GHL pundits and voters. But, yes, Star players with 9 Fortitudes do get injured for lengthy periods. Is it right or legit...I didn't say anything last season. Contrary to what you'all would think.

-Being able to roster and play guys REGULARLY or for the entirety of a season with LOW fortitudes and "gambling" on their finishing the season, is gaming the system.
-Being able to play AHL statistical goalies in the GHL whom statistically outperform the legit NHL goalies being played in the GHL, is gaming the system.
-Being able to use AHL forwards/defensemen in the GHL whom outperform legit NHL Top 6 forwards/Top 4 defenders, is gaming the system.
All of that, allows a team to OVERSPEND on a UFA Superstar and spend thriftly on one of these types, taking advantage of the system. I'm not talking about a player who fills in a roster position due to an injury.
Plus, the sim doesn't seem to penalize or differentiate between AHL or NHL type players. The Ken Gernanders of the GHL seem to reign here in the GHL. But, we keep pushing forward and not taking care of the issues that stare us in the face.
Been happenings for years....Not going to change, apparently.

Low Fort = YES...you play your low Fort guys, ya take your chances. Glenn has code for all that. LEGIT. Could the code be tweaked? We would have to see it.
AHL Goalies = same. I guess they can perform out of their jock strap at times. Again. We would have to see the code.
I guess I can stop here. You are kinda right Chris. There are anomalies and strange occurrences. Without seeing the code, we have no idea.

oh I dunno. We could. Seattle is well versed in 'code', I thought.

I have my own issues with fortitude. I'd still like to see a way for games missed as a healthy scratch to be removed from the fortitude calculations, assuming they still are currently. Meaning that if you have a guy that plays 40-50 games but is actually healthy and just gets scratched a lot (because the team can't send them down without risking a waiver claim), that the player doesn't get penalized with a low fortitude that isn't really deserved.
That said, the way I see it is that fortitude only represents injury risk, not injury certainty. Low fortitude players sometimes manage to avoid injury, higher fortitude players still get hurt. There is no "meant to," only likelihood.

A similar exercise is performed yearly for NHL goalie card generation where DNP for non injuries/illness are removed so as not to negatively impact the goalies fortitude. This is a little easier to do as the number of NHL goalies per year is around 90. Scotty-NY has been kind enough to do these for us the past few years. The task is a lot greater and probably not doable manually in the same manner as listed above however if the aggregated stats were there, this could easily be factored into the card calculations.
Jed nailed it with the "likelihood of injury" comments.
The same sentiment should be applied across the board to players performance as well. That is the heart of the sim.
