After careful evaluation, the front offices of New York have decided to pivot back into rebuilding mode. The realization that last year's success, despite the first round exit, was ahead of schedule for the franchise. With that in mind, many key pieces will be made available. New York will consider moving most players that are 28 or older and possibly others, so if you see something that fits that mold, pick up the phone. The trade block includes, but is not limited to...
2023 UFA Sign and Trade
Roman Josi
At 33, Josi is getting a little closer to the end, but a 9 stamina proves he still plays huge minutes in the NHL and at $7.1225m AAV for the next 4 years, there is still contract value considering he's locked up for the next 5 at 9m in Nashville. 78-78-79 card with that 9 stamina easily puts him on your top pairing
Other options include Dumba, Copp and Backlund
2024 UFA's
Dylan Larkin
Extreme value this season at $4.995m. 98-39-87 with a 7 faceoff, 9 fortitude and 7 stamina. TRUE #1 CENTER. And of course, if a deal is reached now, the ability to re=sign this 27 year old (turning 28 July 30th) long term.
The Studs
Filip Forsberg
Another proven top dog. $7.83475m AAV, also signed until 2026. 93-29-80 player card with a 6 stamina puts him in the top 6 category. A 6 fortitude will be taken into account on the trade table, but he still demands a solid return.
Other Options
Mason Marchment
Contract value at $585,001 through this year with under 30 RFA rights next summer, so you pick his contract. He's a beast in a good situation in Dallas and has shown flashes with past monster cards. This year is a little lower but very usable 71-25-62. 8 fortitude, 5 stamina.
Nathan Walker
A true depth piece highlighted by a 7 face-off rating. Coming off a minor league deal so sign him to whatever fits your needs contract wise. You have total control. 60-29-54 with a 7 fortitude and 3 stamina puts him in 4th line duty or a nice depth option in case of injury up the middle.
As stated, look at the roster as well in case you see something we've missed. Phone lines are open.
New York is also willing to take your over-priced roster player for a pick in a cap consideration type move.
