I think we have a higher comp than the NHL and it may account for lack of bidding,
I think we tack on an extra 1st and 2nd in most of the tiers.
Does the NHL differentiate for age? RFA I, II's

$1 - $1,415,741 No Compensation Required $1,415,741 - $2,145,062 3rd Round Pick $2,145,062 - $4,290,126 2nd Round Pick $4,290,126 - $6,435,187 1st Round pick, 3rd Round Pick $6,435,187 - $8,580,251 1st Round Pick, 2nd Round Pick, 3rd Round Pick $8,580,251- $10,725,315 2X 1st Round Pick, 2nd Round Pick, 3rd Round Pick $10,725,315+ 4X 1st Round Pick
Don’t think NHL has different age groups for RFAs because players have to be coming off an ELC (younger than 25 when they sign their first contract) to qualify for RFA status.

We should update the G to that exact comp - one table too. Easier.

Can't use one table in the G because we don't have age based RFA like the NHL. However, RFA 1 & 2 are exactly the same, which is repetitive

Our Comp is too high - chop of a 1st and 2nd rounder in those high $$ categories.

RFA I, II's Meh, NHL has only had 5 players sign offer sheets since 2010. I bet GHL has that beat by a good margin, even with the higher comp needed.

I didn't see too many complaining when I signed McDavid from Alaska in RFA in 2019? Keep it the way it is, If you offer to a high comp then it gives the current team a choice if to retain or take the picks. Obviously it worked for Alaska and for me!

Have these been the same amounts for a long time or is this something that gets adjusted, perhaps to align with salary cap increases?

It's the same basic table but I'm sure they've changed the salary numbers associated with the compensation. Before 1996, no player even made 10 million so I doubt they had a compensation that high as a baseline but maybe they did, not sure

That's another reason why draft picks are so valuable.
The high comp required also keeps GMs from making a lot of petty bids (just to drive up the final cost of a player). I think this works pretty good as is.
