Whosoever (sounds like Odin taking to Thor) is the losing GM of the all star game....shall NOT win the cup.
1st year 2010-2011- Adirondack was a powerhouse and won more games than Suffolk or Thunder Bay and was blown out in the all star game by like 12 goals ! Needless to say, he went on to not only NOT win the cup but was thrown out of the league ! The Scotty D / ASG CURSE BEGINS!!!!
2nd year 2011-2012 - No all star Game for some reason.
3rd year 2012-2013 - NJ loses ASG - no cup
4th year 2013-2014 - Halifax loses ASG - no cup
5th year 2014-2015 - Hartford loses the ASG -no cup
6th year 2015-2016 - Quebec loses the ASG - no cup
7th year 2016-2017 - Quebec loses the ASG - no cup
8th year 2017-2018 - Boston loses the ASG - no cup, of course.
9th year 2018-2019 - Cleveland loses the ASG....but....BUT.....wins the Cup!!! and ends the curse!!
10th year 2019-2020 - Alaska? no cup
11th year 2020- 2021 - Halifax or Alaska? no cup
12th year 2021- 2022- Alaska loses the ASG - no cup.
13th year 2022 - 2023- Colorado loses the ASG - no cup.
14th year 2023-2024 - Hamiliton Loses the ASG - no cup

or, proving that the "better team" actually won. No offense meant towards my Campbell Conference Comrades...
I personally don't believe in curses...they're just used as excuses for losers. I like to make my own destiny and love going up against adversity....actually, I thrive on it!

Unless Halifax totally shits da bed on this game, We (Campbell) should win HUGE.
And the best part will be the (hopeful) continuation of the curse with Sal NOT winning the cup again this year. HA...the table is setting itself. Enjoy

Ah fooey...going by stats alone, it's easy to see that the Campbell Conference is a tad bit stronger. You could "assume" that the Campbell would win an All Star game. That doesn't diminish the respect that a Wales finalist should have. I mean, seriously, Sal has a good team. Even before the All Star game is played I give him a slight edge of winning the FHL Cup, SLIGHT. Doesn't mean he will win it, doesn't mean he loses it.
BUTTTT, I do like the idea of a "PLAYOFF TREE"!!! That would be nice if it were possible.

I would love to bet you F-points but I have none to put up. Plus I don't know if Glenn would even allow betting of such things. However how's $20 grab you? I'm sure you could pry a jackson loose from those social security checks you get each month. It's funny you should bring that up Sal. I was thinking of allowing each team to wage a certain percentage of their FPs (with odds of course) in the playoffs this year. This would further encourage participation even for those teams that are not in the dance. |

Honestly I think both dudes will end up evenly matched on forward and defense on paper. The X factor I think for our side is if Anderson ends up in net and plays like his card should, or if another of our stellar net minders end up in net, like Lundqvist.

I would prefer if real cash wagers on the game were kept to $5 and under. I wouldn't want any large money bets to cause the outcome of the game to be viewed with shenanigans suspicion. The actual coinage, be it 5 or 40, is worth less than the bragging rights. |
