I was looking through the Cap Space/Team Pages and noticed some of the numbers seemed to be off. I decided to go through every team and found something quite interesting. There are a few teams in the league who are being shorted on salary cap it looks like. I know it's very late in the season and the deadline is 2 days away, but I believe the following teams should have cap space added.
Colorado: $3,330,000
Detroit: $495,000
Edmonton: $1,425,000
Quebec: $1,710,000
St Paul: $5,932,500
Syracuse: $3,875,000
Toronto: $11,347,500
St Paul, Syracuse and Toronto are owed a ton of money, Toronto is being shorted like 1/7 of the entire cap. I went to each team's page and added up their entire contracts and compared them to what is being shown on the Cap Space page. None of these teams are using LTIR so I do not believe that is causing the issue. However, all these teams show (on the Cap Page) that they have more players than they actually have. The first number is what I counted, second number is what is being shown on cap page, third number is difference.
Colorado: 46 - 48 (2)
Detroit: 44 - 45 (1)
Edmonton: 47 - 48 (1)
Quebec: 43 - 45 (2)
St Paul: 42 - 46 (4)
Syracuse: 39 - 45 (6)
Toronto: 39 - 46 (7)
I have a feeling these teams are having people they cut/released count towards their player total and cap. Obviously there is nothing we can do about the players at this point, but maybe the cap can be fixed for these teams as some of them will make a very big difference.
Below is the excel image I used. The light green columns are what I came up with, dark green is what is being shown on the Cap Space page. The numbers are shown as negatives in my spreadsheet, but those are what I believe should actually be positive and added to these teams.
Sorry if I am missing something and this post was all for nothing, but figured I would post it just in case.
