That's ONLY the rule for RFA if someone bids on them and you retain them.

That's ONLY the rule for RFA if someone bids on them and you retain them. Correct that’s why I suggested adding it to the rule book. As for Brian’s comment I don’t think the point of UFA retain was ever to sign and trade. That would weaken the UFA pool further. Just my opinion but I feel UFA retain should either be cost prohibitive enough(it currently isn’t) so that teams would only ever think of using it for their best players. Or their needs to be a rule to keep sign and trades from happening, if I could trade one year of a guy like connauton to someone for a 3rd/4th and all it costs is 75 FP I’m doing it.

As far as I'm concerned, that's fine. They are your FP's, waste them as you see fit. About half the league has the points to sign more than one UFA, a few teams don't have enough to even sign one. The only part I still don't like is that you have to own the player for a full season, just because it's unrealistic. 75 points is pretty restrictive and spending that to turn around and trade an asset is pretty illogical to me especially considering it's going to cost more FP to make the trade but there is always someone trying to game the system.

We are still going with each team able to sign only 1 UFA, correct?

I thought so but not sure, thought that was part of making it 'restrictive'
