The rebuild in Adirondack started at the trade deadline last season and after a year is progressing upwards with 13 draft picks last season and then the two trades this year the Aces are looking to compete with the big boys in the conference again sometime soon .the Aces welcome Devin Shore ,Mangiapane a 4th rounder in last yrs draft and having a good season in the minors and the prize of the two trades Dougie Hamilton who will Quarterback the poor ADR powerplay unit and hopefully bring a cup back to the Adirondack mountain region We say good-bye to Mike Fisher and Jake Markstrom ..... Hopefully Fisher will raise the cup over his head one last time !!! Looking forward to watching a great post season Good luck to all !!!

Well a year has past and things have fallen into place very nicely for the Aces . This past years draft only netted a prospect ,so free agency was the route taken by the men from the Adirondack mountain region . Simmonds was the prize signee and is having one of his best seasons ever , Grabner was also signed and is having a nice season . Trades for Zetterberg and Forsberg have worked out well and Ekholm has become the dominant defenseman we all hoped for , his partner on the blue line Hamilton brought to the team at last years deadline is having his breakout season as well . Then of course is the stopper Grubauer , the goalie the Aces traded for giving up a first rounder after winning the cup also having his breakout ...... All this and of course J T Miller who is having a carear year adds up to one very dangerous team ,,,,,,that seams to play better against the top teams in the league then the bottom teams for some reason,,,,,,, that has a date in the finals as there final destination in sight !

With a 7th place finish on the season and being in the toughest division ...the Aces are happy where they are .... with that said NJ is a division winner and no cream puff ..... last meeting was won by the mountain men 5-2 but the meeting before that NJ took it 6-2 so it’s goong to be a tough series and I’m looking fwd to the challenge !!!!

It was a tough series to lose I knocked u down twice but you got back up and made the proper line adjustments....NOW THATS HOCKEY not putting a team on auto pilot ....good luck in the second round I’ll be rooting for you !!!!! Jersey strong !!!!

Well the Adirondack mountain press is proud to report that this year’s version of the Aces is almost complete GM Sly Pizone has
-Returning JT Miller our top priority ....
-Acquired Evgeni Malkin who will slide into the number one center role he hopefully will be here not just for his UFA walk season and resigned to an additional 4 after the ‘21 season is complete at least that’s the plan
-Acquired Def-Shea Weber who will be our top player on the back line and quarterback the power play
-Acquired Goalies Varlomov and Reimer Two quality backstops
-Acquired LW Zach Sanford hoping he turns into the star he can be
-Reacquired LW -Andrew Mangiapane well because since he was on Moncton twice he needed to come back to the mountains for a second and hopefully long tour of duty
-Reacquired Def- Troy Stecher who was on loan to the Barons and hopefully will show the team what he learned on a championship team
Looking to sign two professional defenseman to add to what we feel is a playoff bound team .....with that said GM Sly Pizone was very happy with the way the 2020 draft worked out and hopes some of the draft class turns into gems 💎

Part II of GM Sly Pizone’s Aces reboot .... the ADR is proud to welcome 3 members of there ‘20 draft class and also 2 members who were acquired at the trade deadline last season who are turning pro ....
Lean Bergmann .... tenacious winger on the Sharks who is 4th on there LW depth chart
Mikhail Maltsov .... a playmaking winger who is ranked 6th on the Devils depth chart at LW
Mathew Villalta .... a good sized goalie in the LA organization who is on the come and has excelled at every stop he’s made
Chad Krys .... a defenseman in the Windy City organization who after leaving collage is ready to make his impact on the grand stage
Alexi Toropchenko ..... a winger under the gateway to the Midwest St Louie .... he’s getting adapted to the smaller play zone from his native Russia and will be the scorer the Aces have been wanting for in a few yrs to come
GM Sly Pizone has had some great drafts the last couple of seasons and he looks to continue that with the haul from the class of 2020 ...6 of which are prospects and have no effect on the cap at the moment
Looking fwd to an exciting season and a trip back to the playoffs after a season removed from a 107 point season

GM Sly Pizone is proud to announce to the Adr mountain press that the Aces have signed 3 quality free agents .... defenseman Alex Goligoski a ten yr vet of the league who at 35 years young isn’t slowing down will team up with Newly acquired Shea Weber on the first pair of def .....also signed was defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk a power play specialist who will play on the 2nd def pairing with Erik Johnson ....Kevin is a native of New Rochelle NY a two hour ride from his new home rink ..... and last but far from least is Pierre- Edouardo Bellemare one of the top defensive centers in the game killing penalty’s & winning face-offs is his forte he was long admired and wanted in trade talks with Pittsburgh over the years .....the Aces got the players they targeted and look forward to a productive and winning 20-21 season !!!!!!

Well with the season flying by it’s been 4 1/2 months since the last press release ....
The Aces are sad to see JT Miller leave he was a huge part of the Aces rebirth the last couple of seasons And will be missed ....also best wishes to Erik Johnson who played a season and a half in the mountains and was very sound defensively
With all that being said the Aces a proud to welcome to the Adirondack mountains ....
Steven Stamkos former Philadelphia and Moncton great
....He’s putting the puck in the net at an alarming rate over the years And there is no reason that won’t continue with the offense ADR runs ... was the media release by GM Sly Pizone .... The GM also went on to welcome Alex Pietrangelo to the team ..... he’s an all around solid defenseman who has an amazing offensive game and will improve an already impressive ADR power play unit ....with the trade playing out over the last few days and the winter storms things have been Chaotic in the mountains so it will be a welcoming sight to play the swords tonight ..... looking fwd to see how this unit meshes together as a elite team now that all the pieces are in place to succeed

Moncton blockbuster 2 1/2 weeks later .... well 5-2-1 last 8 not bad except for a bad loss with 2 min left to Boston it’s been a trade that’s worked out .... I’ve forgotten all about the Colorado laugher in which we got outscored by 8 but only outshot by 2 ....I guess my goalie took the night off without telling me .....looking fwd to the stretch run , there are 6 teams in the conference that can make the finals it should be interesting said Sly Pizone ...... we ask for a prediction..... all he answered as he walked out of the rink was ........... PAIN !!!!!!

The Mountain Press caught up with GM Sly Pizone at the practice rink after a tough Boston series ..... so what are your thoughts on the upcoming series v Halifax.... “They have been one of only 4 teams to win 500 games , they have 4 consecutive 100 plus point seasons , 6 overall , have had only one losing season, we went 1-1-2 v them this past season , but what fuels OUR team most of all Is that they have never won the big one and we beat them 4 games to 2 in OUR last Cup Winning run 5 yrs ago , with all that said it won’t be an easy series to play in and goals should be scored at a race horse hockey pace , who will stop the puck more and scores at least one more then the other will win it ..... my prediction .....Aces in 7 !!! ..... or why even show up to the barn !!!!

As the Aces came to the rink for the last time this season and had there year end meetings GM Sly Pizone addressed the team .....” I proud of what we accomplished this year but not happy with the way the season ended especially at the hands of the hated Huskies ....3rd period leads were lost ...games were lost in the final 2 min this is Unacceptable moving fwd ... the Aces with two 100 plus point season in the last 3 years now are playing with the Bostons and Halifax of the division and to move in the right direction we will acquire players that won’t let losing those 3rd period leads happen “ ..... with that said GM Pizone went on in an interview that he expects team to continue there winning ways and with the UFA players we are losing we will either keep one or do a sign and trade on one of our top tier players ....we know we will lose a valuable player to expansion and with no draft picks we will look to possibly acquire one or two in trades leading up to the draft ..... with all that said the final 4 should be two great series .... I’m rooting for the home state Americans because the hated Huskies just can’t be a team I’ll ever want to see hoist the cup !!!!!

The pieces are there for a strong defense and goal tandom…we just need a few pieces up front to build this team ….was what GM Sly Pizone was over heard saying

Wooooooo …… well that was a crazy summer !!!! …. Was what we heard GM Sly Pizone shouting …..The Mountain press caught up with the Aces GM the other day and he had a lot to say …. Well let me start off by saying our number 1 priority this summer was resigning Semyon , since he was traded for last summer he has been our rock between the pipes , he will be signed to a multi year contract …. Second priority was trading for JT Miller getting him back was a must since we seen that the number one centers in the league wouldn’t make it to UFA …. JT has always been a top Ace player on the ice …. The trade with Moncton getting JT and OEL was not easy but a deal we felt was needed to get to the next level ….the sign & trade for Krieder was another deal that we felt was needed and the thinking is he will score 35 to 40 goals , a player of his caliber was something we couldn’t pass up …. Now comes the UFA’s we tried to get a few players but couldn’t settle on money with that said we are very happy to get the quality players we did ….coming in Bonino a highly skilled center / wing …. Zajac another high caliber player …Grimaldi who should light the lamp often playing on a solid 3rd line … cogliano who will be a defensive force on the 4th line …. I also can’t leave out Curtis and newly acquired Rich Panik , both got here via trades and both solidify the fourth line ……so yes it was a busy summer …. We are looking fwd to a productive and successful season …..Let’s Go Aces !!!!
