Waivers, Drops, Long term Injured reserve??? What's it all mean? WAIVER(with penalty) - Each team gets only ONE per season. It can be used on anyone, for any reason. LTIR Long Term Injured Reserve - Each team gets only ONE per season, and it occurs AFTER the UFA process so as not to be unjustly used as CAP relief for acquiring new players. Players must have a FORT of 1 or 2 and have not played a single GHL game during the season in question. DROP Free Drop - Each team gets as many of these as they are entitled to. Player played ALL NHL season overseas = Drop (free) * Can retain rights to player for 100K. Player was injured in the NHL ALL season / No games played = Drop (free) * Can retain rights to player for 100K. Player was drafted by you and has NEVER played a single GHL game = Drop (free) Player retired from the NHL = NOPE. NO free Drop. You must use your one Waiver to get rid of him. Use the correct terminology. There is only ONE Waiver to be used. There is only ONE LTIR to be used. ALL the rest are DROPS.

I think the UFA over 6m means how many years you need to sign them for not that you have to keep them for 2 years. That is unless I am forgetting something again which is entirely possible.

There was a season or 2 where some teams were signing UFA's for 6,7,8 or more million only to be waived the very next year.
I'm almost certain a rule was made that any UFA signed at 6 million or more SHALL have at least a 2 year contract and cannot be waived.

Nothing in the rule book about this. Another thing that needs to be added, along with straightening out restricted free agent rules and 500k (I mean 600k) minimum pro contracts. Glenn, do you still have a copy of the rule book Mike and I updated a while back?

There was absolutely something on this - 6 million signing rule. There was a year or 2 where Halifax and Hamilton were bidding UFA's through the roof and then just shit-canning (waving) them. Then Moncton did the Alzner and Thornton huge signings and this rule was in place to prevent a quick waiver or a 1 year contract. If it didn't make it rule book, it damn well should.

For signings of 6 mil and up, there is a minimum 2 year contract but the 'no buyout for 2 years' didn't make it in to the rule book.

The last round (100k minimum) will be repeated until all teams have at least 45 players, and no more than 50 players, signed. Also, please remember that each franchise is required to carry 5 goalies. No more, no less. You can spend franchise points to increase the odds that you will retain a players services. FPs will allow you to match any higher bid made by another team and sign the player for that amount of money. Be careful when spending these because you will be forced to sign the inflated price. You don’t have the option not to match if you spend FPs so don’t spend any more than what you would be willing to spend in case the insurance is needed. Any FP spent will be gone no matter if they are needed or not. Each FP will have a value of 50k so if you add 20 to your bid, your bid will effectively be 1M higher. You can only spend these on UFAs that you had on your roster all of last year. If FPs are needed to retain a player, you will only be able to sign him for 1 year and he will be a UFA again next year. One additional note, in order to close the loophole of signing guys to huge 1 year contracts, and player that is signed to a 6M or over contract must be signed for a minimum of 2 years. Also, one last note, teams available cap still reflect the 2M temporary increase. Doesn't say anything about waiving them so essentially the loophole is still open. I can sign a guy for two year's and use my waiver after the first year... correct? If not, let's this get cleared up as well. How would I know this if I was just coming into the league trying to figure everything out?
