I would like to officially table a rule to use waivers in the GHL. I've thought about this for many years, actually since the league's inception and have brought it up before. Logistically, I'm not recommending anything at this time other than to say we apply waivers to all players who are not on entry level deals (or who are not on RFA level contracts) whichever is preferred. Beyond that, I'm not sure technically (coding) speaking, what the rules should be, i.e. waiver claims, salary considerations as I'm not sure exactly what the NHL rules are concerning this. I believe it's something like, inverse standing order of the previous season until DEC 1st and then the current season after the 1st and that the team placing the player on waivers pays half the salary of he is claimed but don't quote me on either of those. We can discuss further if this holds any water at all.

I would love to have these as well but there would be a metric shit ton of development done to add this. This would impact multiple pages (primarily the up/down section of the set lineup page) as well as the engine who freely pulls guys from the minors as needed for games. This also would require a significant amount of coding to handle the in-limbo status of players being called up/sent down as well as developing the process/code/pages to monitor the wire and allow bids.
Bottom line, I would love this as well but short of retirement, I can't see this happening.
