Just curious, I was under the impression that players under bridge contracts were not allowed to be traded ( ie: recent Det-Har trade -Pulkkinen )?
I know that Matt-Syr asked this question a couple weeks ago without a reply to his post. We were actually discussing a possible trade that we let go by the wayside because of that.

In reply to my own question:
Is it because the player's ( Pulkkinen ) "signing date" was at least one year, that the trade was allowed?
Just looking for clarification, I don't have a problem with the trade, other than the rules. Maybe the Bridge icon should be removed from players once their one year mark hits the books. I believe the GHL rules states that RFA's must not be traded for one year after receiving a new contract.

I believe an RFA cannot be traded for a year if another owner bids on them and they are retained.

Yes, to my knowledge this role has nothing to do with bridged players. If an RFA player is retained by the original owner after receiving a bid from another owner, he will have a no movement clause for one year.

Bellemare in Pittsburgh is an example of this

In the NHL, is there an example of a bridged player being traded?

In the NHL, is there an example of a bridged player being traded? As a Penguins fan, I immediately think of Conor Sheary.

In the NHL, is there an example of a bridged player being traded? In the NHL, is there a rule in place that requires you to pay a player coming off a bridge contract $6M if you agree to a 4 year deal with him? In the NHL, is there a waiver wire? In the NHL, is there a silent auction for the services of free agent players? This is the GHL, not the NHL. We have a lot of rules which are not identical to the NHL out of necessity because we can't always mimic the exact rules of the NHL. I wish we could, but we simply can't.

I thank you gentleman for your replies, but, I'd much rather hear a response from Master Glenn. Everything else, is just conjecture.

I thank you gentleman for your replies, but, I'd much rather hear a response from Master Glenn. Everything else, is just conjecture. Is this conjecture, copied and pasted directly from that rule book thingy... 8) Starting with the 2016 RFA phase, players that are retained must not be traded or cut for at least 1 year.

Scott, I was just trying to be polite and trying hard not to say:
"Can you guys leave the BS off of posts and not add your two cents, so that once, JUST ONCE, we can get a question answered by the person who is NOT the "middle man, but the is be all-know all."
But, I didn't want to be rude, so I didn't say that. ( giggle )

Sorry, I will refrain from answering questions by directly quoting the GHL rule book, after all, there is some misleading information contained in it and I will no longer answer even the simplest of questions in an attempt to help other managers.

I like that you're setting goals, but, let's try to make them attainable! ( kidding )
