Why is it that when a team is off for an extended period of time their goalies don't reset back to the blue?
The all star break being a perfect example

Goalies only reset if they are off a game not days .... if Jarry played last game the days off won’t matter his blue / green / yellow color will have its normal effect as if the game was the next day

Jarry is a green now and will only get worse unless off a game

That’s my point men, Jarry will have 10 days off before next start. Wouldn’t It be more realistic if after X amount of days off without not getting a start your goalie goes back to blue? Maybe it’s a technical issue that can’t be coded.

every so often this crops up = realism and rest.
We don't have it yet as explained above.
The perfect code would allow for all real days off to count for rest.

If it were coded in then you would see guys losing stamina faster. It would be more of stamina/time vs stamina/game but I’m pretty sure that the majority of goalies wouldn’t be affected much. Perhaps he’d be yellow right now instead of green if it was changed and the results after the break would be about the same, or his stamina would drop much quicker after the break as he gets fewer rest days. All in all it really doesn’t matter much as this is really the only time we have a significant gap like this.

hmmm...maybe a all goalies 'reset' every GHL all star break would be the sweet spot in realism and without coding!

hmmm...maybe a all goalies 'reset' every GHL all star break would be the sweet spot in realism and without coding! I doubt it. I think it would result in guys overplaying low stamina guys going into it knowing they’ll be reset. There may be a middle ground or a slight boost to current stamina that could get worked out that I feel like would be fair. I’m usually just the devils advocate here though and ultimately depends on if Glenn to see if it’s feasible and reasonable.

But playing guys to their max knowing a extended break is coming is very realistic

I personally feel, if you want real:
If a Goalie had played 20 NHL Game Stats, then he should only be allowed to play 20 GHL Games...Period. That's real!
Instead, we make believe we our players "possibly could have played more than they actually played." We have a statistical simulation that allows us to overshoot the stats...How realistic is that. On one hand we have Physical Stats that indicate All of a players indicators, but we ignore the most important stat: Games Played.

We absolutely don't ignore games played. It's figured into every player card. How is it realistic that we should limit a player to 20 GHL games if he played 20 NHL games? First of all, that's physically impossible, some teams wouldn't have a goalie that for that requirement and it would extremely limit rebuilders. Secondly, just because a player only plays 20 NHL games, doesn't mean he's not capable of playing more. Take any back up goalie in the NHL. Let's say he plays that 20 games under normal circumstances. If the teams starter gets injured, that 20 games could become 60 and the all of a sudden the guy you're limiting to 20 games is a stud and we're a mirror of the NHL instead of a simulation. That's actually less realistic. We can't call guys up from the minors due to how much our minor leaguers cards are nerfed, so how we could we possibly put that type of restriction on goaltenders?

On the contrary, we certainly don't ignore game stats. Playing a guy more than he should lowers his card scores which is very realistic IMHO. Its the best of both worlds.

Looks like we are off the rails with this discussion and my original question has not been answered by massa Glenn. All in all great participation boys
