Coming back into the league this offseason, it's apparent that I missed some pretty big and significant rule changes and new rules. And the only way I've been able to figure some of this out is because I've been doing research and also have come across things in threads randomly. Even some rules that were in place before I left (and forgot about) aren't in the rule book.
I know that the majority of owners here have been in the league for a long time. But, just from myself coming back into the league and seeing potential rules that become rules not in the rule book is stressful and a bit frustrating. I can only imagine how stressed someone brand new to the league is, either not knowing what's a rule and what isn't when searching the forums or looking for a rule in the rule book and not seeing it.
I'll ask a few questions at the end of this post and hopefully they will get answered and give me a better idea of what changes we're made and a couple I may have forgotten.
I saw Scott (New York) ask for this a few times when I was scouring for some things, but is it possible to get the rule book updated? If not during the offseason, maybe once the season starts? I'd be more than willing to help since I don't do much more than eat, sleep, work, and play roller hockey once a week.
Questions that I have:
1. How are FP's accumulated?
Every team gets a base set of points each year. To this, FPs are awarded on a weighted basis for wins, and on a non weighted basis for other activities such as rounds advanced in the playoffs and participating/winning league prognostication events.
2. In trades, how do FP work?
FPs are what we use as our franchise capital and can be used in trades to complete deals. The amount of franchise points a trade cost is a result of the total contract values being traded. Teams have the ability to make adjustments to the 50/50 default FPs cost per team where a could pay all of lets say 85% of a transactions cost. The other primary use for FPs are using them to sweeten a bid on a UFA that you had the entire previous year or signing one, (One ping only Vasily) outright at 110% of their asking price.
I think I was able to find most of my other questions going through the forums but if I think of another, I will post below.
