I like it especially the goalie ratings. Just looked at Milwaukee vs my goalies, even though I likely have the better carded goalie Lankinen (.934 and 2.27) he gets the advantage because his isn't a backup goalie Knight (.919 2.64).
Would be interesting to see how it looks later in the season, if Lankinen keeps those stats at some point I feel he should pass Knight even though Knight plays more. Example I think Lankinen with those stats and 35 games will be better in the GHL than Knight with those stats (roughly 63-71) and a 10 stamina. This is also assuming our sub .900 goalies don't account for too much of that rating.

Here is the current days breakdown of what is factored into the score. Perhaps goalies are providing too much of a weighted advantage? Feedback is appreciated. teamcity | Off | Goalie | CapSpace | Total | Cincinnati | 33.9 | 90.5 | 46 | 170.4 | St Paul | 56.6 | 89.7 | 23 | 169.3 | Seattle | 48 | 88.2 | 33 | 169.2 | Baltimore | 56 | 90.7 | 21 | 167.8 | Washington | 32.2 | 91 | 43 | 166.2 | Hamilton | 66.1 | 81.3 | 16 | 163.3 | Halifax | 72.2 | 65 | 20 | 157.3 | New Jersey | 44 | 89.3 | 20 | 153.3 | Colorado | 41.2 | 83.5 | 28 | 152.7 | Michigan | 32.6 | 91.6 | 27 | 151.2 | Pittsburgh | 65.4 | 56.2 | 29 | 150.6 | Cleveland | 37.7 | 78.4 | 34 | 150.1 | Suffolk | 43.8 | 89.7 | 16 | 149.4 | Milwaukee | 44 | 82.6 | 20 | 146.6 | Chicago | 44.2 | 70.3 | 32 | 146.5 | Hartford | 48.3 | 70.3 | 25 | 143.6 | Philadelphia | 40.3 | 69.4 | 32 | 141.8 | Oregon | 31.3 | 90.9 | 17 | 139.2 | Adirondack | 41.3 | 91.2 | 6 | 138.5 | Hershey | 26 | 82.8 | 28 | 136.8 | New York | 32.6 | 69.1 | 35 | 136.7 | Boston | 35.7 | 81.2 | 19 | 135.9 | Cornwall | 35.4 | 70.3 | 20 | 125.7 | Moncton | 34.5 | 64.2 | 23 | 121.7 | Toronto | 40.2 | 54.8 | 26 | 121 | Syracuse | 45.3 | 49.7 | 24 | 119 | Alaska | 31.7 | 55.5 | 31 | 118.2 | Quebec | 24 | 56 | 33 | 113 | Edmonton | 50.8 | 44.8 | 0 | 95.6 | Montreal | 44.2 | 29.3 | 22 | 95.6 | Calgary | 47.9 | 3.2 | 36 | 87 | Johnstown | 37.8 | 29.6 | 14 | 81.4 |
Just curious what these numbers mean (how they are computed) - mainly because yesterday Hartford had a rating around the middle of the pack with a low 140s score and this morning I'm showing in last place with a total of 74.6; the only big difference being that I now show a second goalie who played 23 minutes in relief in a single game the whole year, should that shift the balance that much?

I believe it pulls the top 2 goalies (by save pct I think) and uses their scores to determine a goalie rating. This is similar to the pulling the top 18 skaters to use for the teams projected off ratings.
The daily stats pull from sportsforecaster has been so spotty as of late (from them not updating their stats), that that could be part of the drop as well.

I only had one goalie that had NHL minutes at all before last night, so I'm guessing that amount was based on averaging one goalie, and Johansson's 23 minutes kicked in a 2 goalies average?

Not a priority but wondering why my team is 8th worst. Looking at stats should likely be top 10
Have 9 forward under contract above .5 ppg with 3 topping a ppg (4th line should be good with low stam too). 4 good to very good D signed. Goalie #s particularly GAA very good but lower GP.
Wondering if it factors that I won't have 6 NHL D under contract next year (will with prospects) or if the goalies GP is what's tanking my projected finish.
Again, realize this is more a novelty than a prediction. Was just curious.

Goaltender Ratings weigh heavily on this Projection. Goaltender Ratings weigh heavily on everything.

Goalies over 15 GP I have the 9th and 11th best with GAA.I have 3rd and 31st best in Sv percent. However only 40 gp so far between the two. I'm guessing that's whats dragging me down.

Don't weigh too heavily on any projections or Home Page analytics. 3 Stars don't make much sense on a daily basis. Projected Team Strength hasn't been a Quality Indicator since it's implementation. Power Ranking's aren't accurate. No disputing Balt's success...But Balt is 21-6-3 in last 30 Games.....Suff is 24-3-3...including 25 straight Games without a loss for Suffolk going 22-0-3. Strength of opponent, look for yourself. I hate to be a prick....but things aren't working and need to be addressed. I won't even mention card development and category dispersement of ratings and attributes. Don't get me wrong...I Love this SIM and the League! I want it to be better! It CAN be better! Squeaky wheels need to be oiled...

Look up, I'm here! I'm liking the fact that every time I bitch and make a gripe, the sim seems to work out in my favor.
Did I say anything that wasn't true?
Home Page analytics, 3 Stars, Power Rankings, Projected Team Strength, Card Ratings Development/Placement (opinion driven)...Goalie Driven League, etc...

Just about everything. You brought up a good point though. I am a firm believer that bad behavior should not be positively rewarded. Your bitching about the power rankings was unfortunately rewarded by the calendar rolling over Saturday night (the power ratings only update once a week) to the last 8 weeks. There were no changes made to the way this was calculated but I did insert some additional code to disable the power/next years projected strength for any GMs that take offense to the numbers they find their teams showing in these areas. Anyone can just say the word and if you would like your values suppressed, just say the word. I also found it amusing last night as I was watching the Senators backstopped by a goalie names Dylan Ferguson making his first NHL start that was on his way to an ECHL assignment stop 48 of 49 shots from the might Penguins (including his first 38 or so shots he faced). I mused that I should contact Bettman and call bullshit on the NHL as this scenario could never happen. I also thought of Turd Ferguson every time they mentioned the goalies name. I am all for making the sim better be it engine or web related. But let me ask a general question. Do you think I am more or less inclined to invest my time to develop and promote window dressing for the league (additional stats/functionality/analytics) when the majority of the feedback is people complaining about how they aren't right? This is why we can't have nice things.
