Card averages with all players would be a realism upgrade.
Hiding the goalie colors would probably be good and realistic now that you mention it.

I've always liked the card average idea but I see 2 issues with this...
The first and foremost, of course, being how difficult it would be for Glenn to program
And the second being what we do with players who haven't previously had stats to provide a card and would we include lower rated cards, such as a minor league type card in the 3 year average?
I'll use Devon Toews as an example.
Year 1 - 59-60 Year 2 - 57-58 Year 3 - 66-108
Therfore instead of a 66-108 card, in year 3 his would average out to be a 61-75 even though he earned his year 3 card? I'm definitely not supporting that stupidity.

11/16/23
Kuemper / #1 Goalie was -2 Orange and engine did not allow him to back up my #2 Comrie who I started.
odd occurrence? Last year they played even red I thought.

Not getting injured is a talent and important skill, as most analytics folks would argue...I'm still mad about Jerome Iginla getting hurt in the playoffs. However, we can argue about what chance a guy who plays 82 should have of getting injured.
Furthermore, a guy who stays on the ice may do so bearing injuries that impact his performance, and that is something very difficult to assess and then quantify. And truthfully, that's probably the most significant condition of professional sports--playing through pain.

Goalie selection auto rests guys who are red, perhaps orange, in the regular season. During playoffs, this auto rest is lessened, or removed, allowing goalies to play at more severe levels of "tired"

Could you look into Wedgewood status please. He hasn't played a game since December 14th but is showing Green Even and Not Blue+1

Goalie status is calculated at the end of the last game their team has played so no goalies status will change when their team is not playing a game.
Also green is the base meaning a player is good and ready to go. Blue status means a player is well rested.
The calculation also factors in a players portion of a teams total games (that is why we disable the color adjustment for the first few weeks as every goalies would show as playing 100% of a teams games and thus be tired after game 1).
His stamina is 4 so seeing as he has played 12 games, of a total of 33, it isn't surprising that he isn't being calculated as well rested (blue)

Yea big thing is to limit use of low stamina guys beginning of season when color adjustment is off even if showing blue/green.
When it comes back and low stamina guy orange he won't be blue for a very long time.

I hear that! Samsanov is a 7 Stamina, which isn't too bad. He hasn't been blue since the season started. Granted, I have used him quite a bit.

Do trades have an adverse effect on goalie stamina? The day I acquired Varlamov he was showing as a -2. THe next game (having not played for me yet) he still dropped to -3. Does the fact that my team had played fewer games than Adirondack cause a recalculation of his stamina?

It would have a small effect (positive or negative) for a goalies next game because it calculates his GP versus teams GP. If his new team has played a different number of games then his old team at the time of the trade, exspecially earlier in the season, it could make him show a little better or worse.
