Shot Attempt Stats

Has anyone ever stumbled across player stats for shots attempted versus shot on goal? I know that pro hockey reference seems to have this when looking at a players detailed stats but I haven't found it for all players.

The reason being is that when watching the games in the viewer it seems like a disproportionate number of shots go wide, especially from in close. I have the hood up and have added code to decrease the chances of a puck going wide the closer to the net, and the more in the center of the ice the shot is coming from.

I want to review what the engine is producing with the changes and compare that to actual stats from last year.

It looks like tsn has something similar but just for NHL players/players who played in the NHL last season. Maybe something like a steady for the AHL only players like we do with stamina and fortitude?

Yeah, I am only seeing total shots on goal on the primary stats page on TSN. If it is shown somewhere else on the site can you link to it?

You are correct, it's only on the primary stats page on TSN

Are you looking to verify that we have a similar % of shots on goal for all players or are you actually looking to get the specific % for each player?

I found total shots attempted for all teams on moneypuck.com. According to their stats 56% of shot attempts were on goal.

Thanks E. This is exactly what I was looking for for the time being. In the future I may add this metric into the players card but for now I just wanted to make sure we were accurate with percentages of shots attempted and those blocked/going wide.
