I started to notice that the 3 stars of the game on the postgame pages have had Shesterkins picture as missing. Going through a few others (such as Allen) on the player stats page it seems like the wrong card is being linked for at least 1/2 of our goalies. It seems to be linking them to their stat cards from 2 years ago in most cases that I can tell, though the old pictures are no longer found on the players pages so it’s my best guess as to the timing. Curious if this is resulting in the wrong stats being utilized in the engine or just an odd quirk that I’m projecting my goalie issues into (my own sort of confirmation bias)?

All stats to play the game are located in the tables on the GHL SQL server provided as part of our web hosting package. This means that everything the sim/engine needs is in our player cards table and nothing is grabbed from any external sources when games are played. That being said, this issue is only cosmetic in nature. Most times if a guy doesn't have an image he won't have an image on his sportforecaster page either. Instead he will show a backed out face silhouette on the upper left part of his screen. sportsforecaster.com/nhl/p/21287A few years back, perhaps when they transferred from THN to Sportsforecaster, they started using different naming conventions for newer players. The code to link back to the proper Sportsforecaster page is sprinkled many places in the website and perhaps some have not been updated on the 3 stars section yet. I will review as time allow.

You arent understanding what I am saying. Shesterkin has a picture in his card, but it isn’t being used. Allen, as an example, has an old image being displayed in the players standing and post game pages than is on his card. From the goalies I can see from the post game three stars sections 3/4 are using pictures from what I believe are old cards (the timing of which seems to correspond to 2 years ago based on team jersey and such). This also seems to correspond with how they are playing to a certain extent. What I believe may be happening is that the game engine is somehow linking a large portion of our goalies to older cards in the database.
If you’ve been looking at the engines output and know for a fact that all goalie stats are being accounted for correctly then I am just a mad conspiracy theorist. But if Jake Allen’s card from 2 years ago was being utilized we could see why he is leading our league in save% and GAA as instead of sub 5s in every category suddenly he has 6+ in every category. It was also the year he would have still had his STL picture on his card just like what is showing up in the 3 stats section and the player stats section. Which again is odd considering his current card picture shows him in Canadians gear and is what should be displayed.

I think the engine is using our goalie cards from 2 years ago
You can prove me right or wrong by looking at a single line of code, any line that shows the stat of Jake Allen

I didn't make myself clear in my post above. There are no calls to any outside website when player stats are pulled for games.
All stats for the game are pulled from one SQL stored procedure/view. This exact same SP/view is called on the website whenever a player cards stats are retrieved to populate their player card.
If you right click on Allen's image on his player card and select open in a new window you will see that the link ends in 6597.jpg. If you click on the sportsforecaster link (Hockey News Icon) you will see that Allens page ends in 16597. This is the change I refered to above where some players ID numbers were changed mostly bu adding a prefix of 1 or 2.

And I’m saying the card picture from what I believe is two years ago shows 6597 as does his current card picture despite being totally separate pictures. His sportsforecaster picture is a different one entirely (not associated with either) that I don’t care about.

Are you just going to ignore that skater cards are doing the same thing with the pictures? I don't think Ryan Hartman would have 32 points in 24 games with any previous card he has had.

I seriously am beginning to think you guys are trolling me.
Jon, it might be easier just to have a quick call so I can explain my point and you can explain yours. LMK and we can schedule a quick call via zoom. Anyone else who wants to understand can attend as well.
That is unless someone else understands what I am saying and can re-summarize here.

Cmon Phil, hang in there.
At least you’re not the 1st team to lose to Boston.
I was sure I was going to be the first. I have back to back game with them this weekend. A little pressure relieved, but still not comfortable playing a team with a 104 toughness rating.

Suffolk never gets a walk. Has there ever been a team with a Toughness Rating Over 100? Or even close to 100? ....Just realized, Tkachuk got another 3 Game Suspension for Injuring Bonino...LOL! Maybe they ain't so tough!

I noticed their toughness earlier this year and wondered how they wold fare. I was very surprised by their struggles early on. They seem to be trending better the past few games...
