Players without cards

This has no bearing on me, but something that I just thought about and became curious. I know if a player misses the entire season, you can retain him and his contract extends a year (I’m pretty sure atleast). If it’s an older player, could you retain him but choose NOT to extend the contract a year in case he would retire before his GHL contract expires?

This would affect me. I'd like to retain Lehner but do not want to extend his contract.

Good point. I know this isn't built into the current code but I will have a look as time permits to determine feasibility.
